Donnie Dumphy
''How to Be Deadly'' is a 2014 Canadian comedy film, directed by Nik Sexton. The film stars Leon Parsons as Donnie Dumphy, an unemployed slacker in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, who enters a minibike competition in the hopes of winning back his ex-girlfriend Brenda (Gina Cook) after she breaks up with him due to his lack of ambition. The cast also includes Ashley Billard, Dan Bochart, Robbie Carruthers, Kate Corbett, Sean Dalton, Lisa Doucette, Dominique Girouard, Annie Hennessey, Andy Jones, Cathy Jones, Dennis Kavanah, Susan Kent, Greg Malone, Mary Walsh, Andrew Younghusband and Rick Mercer in supporting roles. Tommy Sexton
Thomas Sexton (July 3, 1957 – December 13, 1993) was a Canadian comedian. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, he was the youngest member of the ''CODCO'' comedy troupe. Educated in St. John's, he was an honours student before quitting after Grade 10 to pursue an acting career in Toronto. After briefly working on a children's touring theatre show, he landed his first television role in the drama series ''Police Surgeon (Canadian TV series), Police Surgeon''. Sexton and colleague Diane Olsen subsequently wrote ''Cod on a Stick'', a comedic play which launched CODCO. In 1975, Sexton took a brief sabbatical from CODCO to study at the Toronto Dance Theatre. He subsequently returned, working on other shows with CODCO and subsequently touring with colleague Greg Malone (actor), Greg Malone in two co-written works, ''The Wonderful Grand Band'' and ''Two Foolish to Talk About''. ''FUBAR'' is a 2002 Canadian comedy film directed by Michael Dowse and written by Dave Lawrence, Dowse and Paul Spence, following the lives of two lifelong friends and head-bangers, Terry Cahill and Dean Murdoch. It debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. Since its release, it has gained a cult status in North America, particularly in Western Canada. Filmed and set in and around Edmonton, Alberta, it was shot on a Canon XL1, on a shoestring budget; Lawrence maxed out his credit card, and his father refinanced their family home, to complete it. The film features characters created by Lawrence and Paul Spence that they developed based on the head-banger subculture. Terry Cahill, one of the main characters, played by Lawrence, was based on a character he created at Loose Moose Theatre in the mid-'90s.
