Donatella Spadi
Donatella Spadi (born 4 September 1959) is an Italian physician and politician who has served as a member of the Regional Council of Tuscany since November 2020. Life and career Spadi was born in Roccastrada, province of Grosseto, on 4 September 1959, but she moved with her family to Follonica at the age of six. She graduated with a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Siena in 1993. After spending several years in ambulance rescue and being part of the Pegaso air rescue team, Spadi joined the emergency department of the Sant'Andrea Hospital of Massa Marittima. In 2010, she became the head of the department and in 2017, she was promoted to chief director. Also in 2017, Spadi was elected to the council of the Order of Doctors. In July 2020, she entered politics and was a candidate in the Tuscan regional elections for the Democratic Party in the Grosseto constituency. The Regional Council of Tuscany () is the parliament, legislative assembly of Tuscany. It was first elected in 1970, when the Regions of Italy, ordinary regions were instituted, on the basis of the Constitution of Italy of 1948. Composition The Regional Council of Tuscany was originally composed of 50 regional councillors. In the Tuscan regional election, 2005, 2005 regional election the number of councillors increased to 65, while in the Tuscan regional election, 2010, 2010 regional election it was reduced to 53. Following the 2014 regional electoral reform the number of regional councillors was reduced to 40, with an additional seat reserved for the President of the Region. In Italy an assessor (in Italian language: ''assessore'') is a member of a ''Giunta'', the executive body in all levels of local government: regions, provinces and comunes. Assessors are appointed by the chief executive of local government, who chairs the ''Giunta'', the mayor of a comune or the president of a province or region. Assessors serve until they resign, are dismissed by the chief executive, or until the end of the chief executive's term. In comunes with 15,000 residents or more and in provinces, assessors cannot be members of ''Consiglio'' (council), the local legislative body. ''La Nazione'' is one of the oldest regional newspapers in Italy, and was established on 8 July 1859. The paper is based in Florence. History and profile ''La Nazione'' was founded by Bettino Ricasoli, interim head of the Tuscan government. The first issue appeared on 8 July 1859. Its title reflects the hope of Ricasoli for a unified Italy. ''La Nazione'' merged with Cavour's famous political newspaper '' Il Risorgimento''. Leonardo Marras (born 12 January 1973) is an Italian politician. Biography Born in Grosseto on 12 January 1973, Marras graduated from the "Guglielmo Marconi" scientific high school and immediately began his political career, being elected as a municipal councilor in Roccastrada in 1992 with the Democratic Party of the Left. In 1999, at the age of 26, Marras was elected mayor of Roccastrada with the Democrats of the Left. Marras has been a member of the Democratic Party since 2007. He ran for the office of President of the Province of Grosseto at the 2009 provincial elections, supported by a centre-left coalition, and won at the second round to the centre-right candidate Alessandro Antichi on 22 June. 2020 Tuscan Regional Election
The 2020 Tuscan regional election was the 7th regional election held in Tuscany, Italy, and took place on 20 and 21 September 2020. It was originally scheduled to take place on 31 May 2020, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic in Italy. The Democratic candidate, Eugenio Giani, defeated the League candidate, Susanna Ceccardi. Giani took office as President of Tuscany on October 8, 2020. Electoral system Tuscany uses its own legislation of 2014 to elect its Regional Council. The councillors are elected in provincial constituencies by proportional representation using the D'Hondt method. The constituency of Florence is further divided into 4 sub-constituencies. Massa Marittima
Massa Marittima (Latin: ''Massa Veternensis'') is a town and ''comune'' of the province of Grosseto, southern Tuscany, Italy, 49 km NNW of Grosseto. There are mineral springs, mines of iron, mercury, lignite and copper, with foundries, ironworks and olive-oil mills. In Follonica, on the coast, there are furnaces where the iron ore of Elba is smelted.
