Alena Douhan
Alena Douhan ( be, Алена Доўгань) of Belarus is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of the unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights, as 25 March 2020. When appointed, she was a professor of International Law at the Belarusian State University and the Director of the Peace Research Center. Douhan earned a PhD at the Belarusian State University in 2005 and a Dr. hab. in International Law and European Law in 2015 . Special Rapporteur According to the ''National Review'', the role of Special Rapporteur was created by a 2014 resolution at the U.N. Human Rights Council introduced by Iran on behalf of the non-aligned movement, and Douhan is the second to occupy the role. The role is unpaid and its holder is not a member of the UN staff. Iryna Dovhan
Iryna Dovhan ( uk, Ірина Володимирівна Довгань; born 25 January 1962) is a Ukrainian activist and a native of Yasynuvata (a Donetsk suburb), who was abducted in 2014 by pro-Russian insurgents of the Vostok Battalion. She says that she was beaten and humiliated for five days. According to her testimony, she was held in jail and interrogated before being handed over to mercenaries, apparently from North Ossetia, who subjected her to torture, calling her a fascist and forcing her to shout " Sieg Heil", repeatedly shooting pistols next to her ears and threatening to rape her. She was freed on August 28 after, Mark Franchetti, a reporter for the British newspaper The Sunday Times, and Dmitry Beliakov, a Russian freelance photographer, pleaded with leader Alexander Khodakovsky to release her. Mihai Dolgan
Mihai Dolgan (March 14, 1942, Vladimirești – March 16, 2008, Chişinău) was a singer and composer from Moldova. In 1967 he set up the Noroc which became one of the most famous bands in the Soviet Union. Biography Mihail Dolgan was born on March 14, 1942 in Vladimirești of the Sângerei District. In 1949 all his family was deported to Siberia. He came back to Moldova in 1957. In 1967 Mihai Dolgan set up the Noroc ensemble, which became one of the most famous in the USSR. In 1970 the Ministry of Culture of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic banned the ensemble and it returned onto the stage only in 1988. Mihai Dolgan is the author of about a hundred compositions, which became hits. On March 16, 2008 the composer Mihai Dolgan died in the hospital, suffering from an incurable disease.
