The album was recorded and produced in Australia and the United States and released on 13 October 2008. it was the first studio album by the band since 2000's ''Scam''. Band member Dave Gleeson said; "We have not given up hope yet, we want to proudly fly the flag of pub rock. Many of today’s kids are stuck in the iPod generation, where you don’t listen to albums anymore … you hand-pick one song and then skip to another. We want to bring back the feel of listening to an album. We have issues we feel need touching on, look at climate change, even its title had to be watered down due to political correctness, as people are too afraid to call it global warming. Look at our fat-cat politicians – they decided to round up all our homeless during the Olympics, so visitors couldn’t see the plight of our homeless. There are ...

Do Ya (The Move Song)
"Do Ya" is a song written by Jeff Lynne, that was originally recorded by The Move, which became a hit for the Electric Light Orchestra (led by Lynne, ELO originally being a side project of The Move) in 1977. Release Written by Jeff Lynne in 1971, it was one of two songs featured on the B-side of the UK hit " California Man" credited to The Move (the other was Roy Wood's "Ella James"). In the United States the B-side proved more popular than the A and so the song became the group's only US hit, albeit a minor one (reaching number 93 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart). The song was originally titled "Look Out Baby, There's a Plane A Comin'" (which is sung by Wood at the end of the song). The song was later included on the 2005 remastered version of the ''Message from the Country'' album, in both the original single version and an alternate take. The song was recorded on the same multireel tapes alongside the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) tracks "From the Sun to the World" and " ...

Barney Bentall And The Legendary Hearts
Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts are a Canadian rock band, based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, that formed in 1980. The band's name was taken from the title of Lou Reed's 1983 album. Biography Bentall's first group was Brandon Wolf, a pseudonym he also used, which formed in 1978 with the original line-up consisting of: Bentall (lead vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Doug McFetridge (guitar), Kevin Swain (bass) and Derek Morrison (drums) and which later changed to: Brad Kilburn (bass), Wilf Froese (keyboards) and Jack Guppy (drums). With songs written by Bentall and long-time childhood friend and songwriting partner Gary Fraser (who sometimes wrote using the pseudonym Robert Arrow), as well as McFetridge and Swain, they self-released "Excerpt from the Montmartre Letters", a 4-track 45 rpm EP in 1979. This record was followed by "Not Guilty", a 5-track EP released in 1980 on A&M Records, that had modest success in Western Canada. In 1982, Brandon Wolf recorded a ...

Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports
''Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports'' is the debut solo album by drummer Nick Mason, most known for his work with Pink Floyd, released in May 1981. Mainly creatively driven by American jazz composer Carla Bley, it is Mason's first major work outside of Pink Floyd. Writing and recording Though ''Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports'' was released under Mason's name, it is effectively an album by jazz composer and keyboardist Carla Bley and her ensemble, for whom Mason is merely the drummer. Bley wrote all the music and lyrics for the album. All of the songs have lyrics, which are sung by Robert Wyatt (formerly of Soft Machine) except for the first track, where Karen Kraft takes lead. The album was recorded in October 1979 at Grog Kill Studio (owned by Bley and her then-husband Michael Mantler) in Willow, New York. The sessions took place while production for Pink Floyd's '' The Wall'' was still ongoing. The album was co-produced by Mason and Bley. The album is more pop-oriented ...

Impeach My Bush
''Impeach My Bush'' is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer Peaches, released on July 7, 2006 by XL Recordings. The album includes guest appearances by Joan Jett, Beth Ditto, Josh Homme, Samantha Maloney, Mocky and her one-time roommate Feist. Writing and development Early sessions of ''Impeach My Bush'' were recorded at Peaches' Berlin studio with Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse "The Devil" Hughes. She finished recording the album with producers Mickey Petralia and Greg Kurstin at Jeff Porcaro's ( Toto) self-built studio in Los Angeles. Composition The album draws from glam rock, punk, and electro. Lyrically, ''Impeach My Bush'' continues the explicit references, double entendres, and gender politics of Peaches' two previous albums. "Two Guys (For Every Girl)" deals with threesomes while "Rock the Shocker" centers on foreplay. "Stick It to the Pimp" is a backlash against hip hop chauvinism. Promotion Peaches formed the Herms (short for hermaphrodites) in early 2006 ...
