''Impeach My Bush'' is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer Peaches, released on July 7, 2006 by XL Recordings. The album includes guest appearances by Joan Jett, Beth Ditto, Josh Homme, Samantha Maloney, Mocky and her one-time roommate Feist. Writing and development Early sessions of ''Impeach My Bush'' were recorded at Peaches' Berlin studio with Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse "The Devil" Hughes. She finished recording the album with producers Mickey Petralia and Greg Kurstin at Jeff Porcaro's ( Toto) self-built studio in Los Angeles. Composition The album draws from glam rock, punk, and electro. Lyrically, ''Impeach My Bush'' continues the explicit references, double entendres, and gender politics of Peaches' two previous albums. Peaches (musician)
Merrill Nisker (born 11 November 1966), better known by her stage name Peaches, is a Canadian electroclash musician and producer. Born in Ontario, Peaches began her musical career in the 1990s as part of a folk music, folk trio, Mermaid Cafe. In 1995, she established a rock band, the Shit. That year she also released her first solo album, ''Fancypants Hoodlum''. After moving to Berlin, Germany, she was signed to the Kitty-Yo label and released her second album, ''The Teaches of Peaches'' (2000). Samantha Maloney
Samantha Maloney (born December 11, 1975) is an American musician best known for playing in the band Hole. She has also performed live with Eagles of Death Metal and Peaches. Early career Maloney received her first drum-kit at the age of five. Drumming immediately became a significant part of her life. At the age of fourteen she enrolled at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City, and for the next three years studied percussion extensively. Music career Shift (1993–1998) At the age of sixteen, she auditioned for the post-hardcore band Shift as a replacement drummer and the band gave her the position permanently. While playing in Shift, Maloney excelled on her school's basketball team, and in 1993, had to decide whether or not to pursue a serious basketball career with college scholarship offers or to continue drumming in her band Shift. Jeffrey Thomas Porcaro (April 1, 1954 – August 5, 1992) was an American drummer. He is best known for being the co-founder and drummer of the rock band Toto, but is also one of the most recorded session musicians in history, working on hundreds of albums and thousands of sessions. While already an established studio player in the 1970s, he came to prominence in the United States as the drummer on the Steely Dan album '' Katy Lied'' (1975). Jesse Everett Hughes (born September 24, 1972) is an American singer and musician. He is best known as the frontman of the rock band Eagles of Death Metal, with whom he has recorded four studio albums and a live album. Hughes is also known for his solo career under the moniker Boots Electric. Early life Jesse Everett Hughes was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 24, 1972. Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, formed in 1998.
