Dmity Vyacheslavovich Milyaev (; born 29 August 1975) is a Russian statesman and politician. He is the current Governor of Tula Oblast since September 12, 2024. Biography Dmitry Milyaev was born in Kireyevsk, Tula Oblast. In 1997, he graduated from the . In 2003, he received a law degree from the Sholokhov Moscow State University for Humanities. From 2000 to 2010, Milyaev served as a local adviser and, later, as a leading legal advisor for legal issues and personnel management, and general director of OJSC Tula Bread Products Plant. From 2010 to 2011, he was the general director of Shirinsky Bakery Plant LLC. The Governor of Tula Oblast is the head of Tula Oblast, the federal subject of Russia. The governor is elected by the people of Tula Oblast for five years. Dmitry Milyaev is the current governor since 14 May 2024. History From 1777 to 1796 the power in the Tula Vicegerency was divided between Governors-General and Vicegerents. Previously, he served as the chief security guard and assistant of Russian president Vladimir Putin before being promoted to lead the Russian military's Special Operations Forces, where he oversaw the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
