Dheke Dhekeves is a series of Maldivian comedy short films produced by Mohamed Abdulla. The short films are written and directed by different people and follow a linear storytelling though its final installment ''Dheke Dhekeves 6'' has no continuation in the script from its prior installments. Mohamed Abdulla (actor)
Mohamed Abdulla (6 December 1974) is a Maldivian film producer, actor and a politician. Career Acting career In his career, Abdulla starred in a limited feature films; ''Bulbulaa'' (1999) and Amjad Ibrahim's comedy drama film '' Majubooru Loabi'' (2000). The latter being a commercial success, marks the only collaboration of Abdulla with legendary comedy actors, Haajara Abdul Kareem and Sithi Fulhu. Abdulla made his career breakthrough with the role Muhamma in the first installment of '' Dheke Dhekeves'' (2004) short film series which extended until the sixth installment, released in 2012. Roanu Hassan Manik
Roanu Hassan Manik is a widely acclaimed Maldivian film actor, who mainly works in the Maldivian film industry. Early life On 11 November 1977, while working as a Headmaster at educational centre, Manik produced, choreographed and starred in a theatre play, ''Vamundhaa Goiyy'' alongside his students which narrates the discrimination of locals moving from atolls to Male'. Afterwards he worked in several other theatre performances before making his screen debut in Musthafa Hussain-directed ''Gellunu Furaavaru'' (1980). Mohamed Abdul Ghanee
Mohamed Abdul Ghanee (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Theyravaa is a Maldivian singer and songwriter. Early life and career Born to a musical family, Ghanee had no interest in music even when his siblings spend their time in jamming and singing. While studying at Madhrasathul Ifthithaah, he participated in the Inter-house singing competition, on a request by his elder brother. His performance was well noted by judges and received several prizes. The success was followed by his next performance, the song "Theyravaa" which caught the attention of a member from the local music band Zero Degree Atoll, who insisted him to perform a different version of the song in the ''Fannaanunge Muzikee Eid Show'' (1992). Aminath Shaufa Saeed
Aminath Shaufa Saeed (9 November 1990) is a Maldivian singer. Career In 2007, Saeed appeared in one of the Television Maldives-created singing series shows, ''Thihan'dhaanugai'', where she performed a cover of the song "Eynee Loabi", originally performed by Masodi Hassan Khaleel. Her voice was regarded as "somber", "husky" and "closed" yet "soulful", mostly comfortable in the lower vocal range. Hussain Ali
Hussain Ali (26 January 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Hussain Ali was born on 26 January 1976 in F. Nilandhoo. In 1996, he performed the track "Goanaa Kuree" for the album ''Shakuvaa'' which is considered as one of his earliest releases. Two years later, while working at Maldives National Defense Force, he joined the army's music band, Cops Band, and became a prominent performer in several shows and national events. Shafeeqa Abdul Latheef
Shafeeqa Abdul Latheef (1 May 1961) is a Maldivian playback singer. Career Shafeeqa Abdul Latheef comes from a family with a strong musical background, her father, Abdul Latheef, being a notable musician in his prime years. Influenced by Hindustani music and inspired by renowned singers like Asha Bhosle, she began her singing journey at a young age. In 1982, an important opportunity arose when musician Imaadh Ismail and members of the Summer band were in search of a female vocalist. She participated in a brief audition which was rejected by the band members and instead requested her to render the song "Dil Ke Armaan Aansuo Me Bah Gaye" from the film ''Nikaah''. Ibrahim Zaid Ali
Ibrahim Zaid Ali (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Kuda Ibbe is a Maldivian singer and music composer. Early life and career Since childhood, Ali had been listening to all genres of songs from Bollywood classical to hip-hop to heavy metal music. At the age of seven, Ali fabricated music equipment including guitar and drum using wood, plywood and tin, where he used these self-made instruments to perform songs in the football stadium. Mumthaz Moosa is a Maldivian former singer. Career Mumthaz was first heard in the early 2000s where he appeared in some of the local stage shows being performed at that time. After his talent was recognized by the music directors, he was offered to record several songs for studio albums and feature films where the songs "Reydhuvaa Gunamun" from ''Rasfarihi'' (2003) and "Hibakuramey" from ''Saahil'' (2004) were some of his earlier releases in his professional career. Hassan Ilham is a Maldivian singer. Career Ilham made his career debut in the late 1990s though his professional career is noted to be initiated in the year 2000 with the studio album ''Hamaroalhi'' where he rendered ten songs for it. Moonisa Khaleel (6 November 1974) is a Maldivian playback singer. Career Khaleel began singing at a young age while studying at Malé English School, often performing at Kresendo shows.
