Dheevaanaa
''Dheevaanaa'' is a 2001 Maldivian romantic thriller film directed by Aslam Rasheed. Produced under Slam Studio, the film stars Niuma Mohamed, Mohamed Shavin, Mohamed Afrah and Waleedha Waleed in pivotal roles. The film was an unofficial remake of Ram Gopal Varma's romantic thriller ''Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya'' (2001) Premise Zain (Mohamed Shavin), a company's photographer was roaming around the island searching for the perfect click for inclusion in their upcoming magazine where he meets Lamya Anwar (Niuma Mohamed) and clicks several photos of her without her permission. The pictures caught the attention of company's manager, Farooq (Mohamed Afrah) who included her portrait in their magazine's cover photo, much to Lamya's frustration. Niuma Mohamed
Niuma Mohamed (pronounced ; 20 October 1977) is a Maldivian film actress, director, and producer. The highest-paid actress in Maldives, Mohamed is the recipient of several awards, including two Gaumee Film Awards, and four Maldives Film Awards. She holds the record for collecting all three Maldives Film Awards for Best Actress in a feature film. In 2011, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Mohamed was born in Vaadhoo and raised in Male'. Mohamed Shavin is a Maldivian film actor. Career In 2000, he played the role of Fayaz, an ignorant husband who is deeply in love with a patient suffering from congenital heart disease in Abdul Faththaah's television drama series ''Dhoapatta''. Starring alongside Niuma Mohamed, Sheela Najeeb and Jamsheedha Ahmed, the series centers on unrequited love and complications of a relationship within and beyond marriage. Mohamed Afrah Hassan, commonly known as Mohamed Afrah (17 January 1974 – 7 April 2019) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career Afrah was featured in the most successful Maldivian film of 2000, Ahmed Nimal's horror classic ''Zalzalaa'', where he played the traumatized son observing supernatural events in his family. The film follows a man who lost his life and endangering his whole family while being lured by a female spirit sent off to complete an unfulfilled prophecy. Waleedha Waleed
Waleedha Waleed is a Maldivian film actress, choreographer, director, seamstress and politician. Career In 1989, at the age of fourteen, Waleedha Waleed made her screen debut with a video single directed by Musthafa Hussain. She went on to feature in several other video songs and films. Waleed had most recognition for her songs included in the ''Vasmeeru'' album, which was produced by ''Television Maldives''. In an interview with ''Avas'', Waleed mentioned; "What made me go a long way in my career is the belief that people cheer me as a good dancer though I am not trained in any dance style". Ali Shameel
Ali Shameel is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career In 1986, Shameel took part in a stage-play titled CDS-6, alongside Kashima Shakir, Mohamed Rasheed and Chilhiya Moosa Manik which was appreciated among the audience and he continues to feature in several other stage dramas. In 1992, Shameel made his career debut in Ahmed Sharmeel and Ibrahim Waheed's family drama film '' Dhon Manma'' (1992) alongside Haajara Abdul Kareem, Ibrahim Shakir and Sharmeel. Mariyam Unoosha (born 6 October 1985), known :wikt:mononym, mononymously as Unoosha is a Maldivians, Maldivian female singer and songwriter. She is from a prominent Maldivian singing family. Her parents were in the 90s famous band " Olympians". She has won many awards and has performed in various high caliber shows in Maldives and abroad. Fathimath Rauf (7 October 1959) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Fathimath Rauf was born and raised in the "Masodi family" where several local artists emerged as prominent singers. At the age of thirteen, as insisted by her father, Rauf performed a song on the stage which caught the attention of the audience. Music directors realized her potential and roped in to sing for their projects which enabled her to "rise to fame" during her career beginning. Fazeela Amir (16 December 1969) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Fazeela Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" where several artists including Ahmed Amir and Ibrahim Amir were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. She made her career debut with the album ''Hiyy Fahi'' where she lent her voice for eleven songs in the album. Ravee Farooq is a Maldivian actor, director, editor and choreographer. Career Farooq made his film debut with Abdul Faththaah-directed romantic disaster film, '' Hureemey Inthizaarugaa'' (2005) cast along with Mariyam Zuhura, Waleedha Waleed, Ibrahim Jihad and Neena Saleem. Abdul Hannan Moosa Didi (13 June 1959) is a Maldivian singer, music composer and producer. Early life and career At the age of seventeen, Didi started performing casually with his friends which helped him develop self-confidence and improve his singing capabilities. In 1977, he was offered a stage performance in a tourist resort to celebrate one of their occasions, which resulted in him getting several offers. Ahmed Amir
Ahmed Amir (born 18 February 1972) is a Maldivian singer and music composer. Early life and career Ahmed Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" which also includes Ibrahim Amir and Fazeela Amir. Ahmed Amir’s very first appearance in as a music artist was at the age of 11 years, in 1983. He performed as a member of the ‘Pluto Band’ as a vocalist and guitarist. Together with Ahmed Amir, the now well known Maldivian singer Abdul Sameeu had also performed as a member of this Pluto Band. In 1993, Amir formed "Maars Studio", which contributed to the music industry in programming music tracks, composing original music and in recording songs.
