Dhauvath
''Dhauvath'' () is a 2019 Maldivian horror film written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Produced by V Media, the film stars Mariyam Azza, Ali Azim and Ahmed Easa in pivotal roles. The film based on true incidents occurred in an island in Maldives, follows a happily married couple who goes on a honeymoon trip and the downfall of their relationship and lives due to black-magic. Premise A newly wedded couple, Razeen (Ali Azim) and Zeeniya (Mariyam Azza) go on their 7-days honeymoon trip. There they meet Saajidh (Ahmed Easa), the housekeeping staff of the guesthouse, who practices black-magic while also taking care of a paralyzed woman, Nadhira (Aminath Ziyadha). Soon after, Zeeniya experiences paranormal events. Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, director, producer, writer and editor. Regarded as one of the most successful figures in Maldivian cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient numerous accolades, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; holding the record for winning the most Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Mariyam Azza
Mariyam Azza (born 20 April 1989) is a Maldivian film actress. She is the daughter of actress Aminath Rasheedha and younger sister to actress turned director Aishath Rishmy. Early life Born in Malé, Azza is the daughter of actress Aminath Rasheedha and the sister of actress Aishath Rishmy. She made a brief cameo appearance in the film ''Mithuru'', along with Rishmy, which was produced by her step-father Shiyam and co-starring with Rasheedha. In 1997, she starred alongside Rasheedha in Mohamed Ali Manik's ''Maazee'' (2000) which narrates the story of two best friends, a boy and a girl, who get separated at childhood and reunite as adults. Azza played the child role of Neeza, a high self-esteemed girl who disregard her own mother and childhood best friend. Ali Azim
Ali Azim is a Maldivian film actor. Career 2010–2016: Early releases Azim expressed his interest in acting at a very young age. Before he pursued a career in acting Azim worked as a dancer and stage performer. He was first recognized by the audience for his facial expressions while dancing. While working in the Animation Dance Group, the team made a short children's film ''Lollypop'' with "no serious intention but for entertainment". The film which features Azim in a "forgettable" role did not much help to accelerate his career. This was followed by Abdul Faththaah's 5 episodes drama series '' Kaiveni'', starred opposite Mariyam Zuhura. Ahmed Easa
Ahmed Easa (born 7 October 1985) is a Maldivian film actor. Career In his childhood, Ahmed Easa watched Bollywood films and imitated the acting of Sunil Shetty in stage performances. While watching his movies, Easa grew a fondness towards cinema and decided to pursue a career in acting "if granted with a chance worth holding for". He was first offered a role in Amjad Ibrahim's romantic horror film '' Udhabaani'' (2009) but he rejected it since he was "too shy to be in front of the camera with his current physique". However, he made his film debut two years later with Hamid Ali's '' Laelaa'' (2011) co-starring Yoosuf Shafeeu, Amira Ismail and Ali. Mohamed Faisal is a Maldivian film actor, editor and director. Career Faisal made his film debut with the romantic film '' Loaiybahtakaa'' (2009), written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu in which he stars as businessman from a wealthy family struggling to express his feelings. The romantic drama, co-starring Sheela Najeeb, Fathimath Fareela and Yoosuf Shafeeu, tells the story of unrequited love, and proved to be a commercial success. His performance in the film garnered him a nomination at 1st Maldives Film Awards ceremony. This was followed by Ali Shifau-directed family drama '' Dhin Veynuge Hithaamaigaa'' (2010) which showcases discrimination against the islanders, family revenge and fatherhood responsibilities. Nuzuhath Shuaib (born 14 September 1988) is a Maldivian film actress. Early life Nuzuhath Shuaib was born on 14 September 1988 in N. Manadhoo. Dharavandhoo ( Dhivehi: ދަރަވަންދޫ) is one of the inhabited islands of Baa Atoll. Geography The island is north of the country's capital, Malé.
