''Devaru Kotta Vara'' () is a 1976 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by R. Ramamurthy and produced by R. Rama Sheshan and R. Kashi Vishwanathan. The film stars Vishnuvardhan, Gangadhar, T. N. Sampath Kumar (18 September 1950 – 30 December 2009), known by his stage name Vishnuvardhan, was an Indian actor predominantly in Kannada cinema. He is regarded as one of the popular cultural icon of Karnataka. Vishnuvardhan is often referred to as ''Sahasa Simha'' and ''The Angry Young Man of Kannada Cinema.'' Gangadhar (1936–2003) was an Indian actor known for his work in Kannada cinema. A character actor who transitioned from stage to films in the mid-1960s, he had a brief period of success when his performances in social-dramas such as ''Gejje Pooje'' (1969), '' Sharapanjara'' (1971) and '' Seetha'' (1970) were noted. In addition to the former two, he starred in '' Katha Sangama'' (1975) and '' Ranganayaki'' (1981), all of which were directed by Puttanna Kanagal. Other films he starred in include '' Nanna Thamma'' (1970), ''Aliya Geleya'' (1971) and '' Bhale Adrushtavo Adrushta'' (1972). Kamala Kumari (6 January 1945 – 26 July 2021), known by her mononymous stage name Jayanthi, was an Indian actress known for her work in Kannada cinema and Tamil cinema. Kollur Manjunatha Bhatta Rathnakar (11 April 1931 - 21 September 2010) was an Indian actor and director, known for his work in Kannada film industry. He is best known for his comic roles in movies including Kanyarathna (1963), Satya Harishchandra (1965), Guru Shishyaru (1981), Hosa Belaku (1982) and Halli Meshtru (1992). Personal life Rathnakar was born in Kollur in a family of priests. His father Manjunatha Bhatta was one of the priests at Mookambika Temple, Kollur.
