The Derways Automobile Company (Limited liability company#Russia, ООО Автомобильная компания ДЕРВЕЙС, Avtomobil'naya kompaniya DERVEYS) was a Russian automaker located in Cherkessk, Karachay-Cherkessia. Founded in 2003, it was Russia's first private car manufacturer and a part of the Russian Mercury Group. Since June 2007, the company has been producing 100,000 units annually for the local market in a joint venture with the People's Republic of China, Chinese firms Lifan Group and Liaoning Shuguang Automotive Group, Liaoning SG Automotive Group Co., Ltd. Derways' second plant was opened in the fall of 2009. The company employed around 3,000 workers. Derways Cowboy
The Derways Cowboy (), also known as the Derways 3131, is a boxy, five-door, J-segment SUV with a panel-on-space-frame design. It was manufactured at the Derways factory in Cherkessk, Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia, from 2004 to 2006. The first prototype of the Cowboy was designed and assembled in 2003 and showcased at the International Motor Show in Moscow. Description The SUV was built using components and units from the Romanian ARO 244, including the transmission, steering, brakes, and suspension, while the body was constructed using flat metal panels on a tubular space frame. Later, Chinese chassis were incorporated. The Cowboy successfully passed all tests at the training ground and received certification. ARO (company)
ARO (short for Auto Romania) was a Romanian off-road vehicle manufacturer located in Câmpulung. The first ARO vehicles were produced in 1957, and the last in 2003. For a short while, Daihatsu-powered AROs were sold in Spain and produced in Portugal under the "Portaro" brand. In Italy, AROs were produced and sold under the ACM brand, often fitted with Volkswagen engines. Dadi Auto (officially Dadi Automobile Group Co., Ltd.) was a pickup truck and heavy-duty truck manufacturing company headquartered in Baoding, China.
