''Death Is This Communion'' (stylized as ''Death•Is•This•Communion•'') is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band High on Fire. It was released on September 10, 2007 in Europe and September 18 in the United States. The first pressing includes a bonus DVD featuring in-studio footage of the making of the album. It is the first album to feature Jeff Matz on bass guitar. Frontman Matt Pike noted that the album's lyrics were influenced by David Icke, H. P. Lovecraft, and the Bible. The album has received generally good reviews, with an average rating of 80 on Metacritic. It was named the third-best album of the year by '' Revolver''. High on Fire is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California, that was formed in 1999. Matt Pike, the band's frontman and founder, also plays guitar for doom metal band Sleep. High on Fire won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance with their song "Electric Messiah". History High on Fire was founded in 1999 by Sleep guitarist Matt Pike, drummer Des Kensel, and bassist George Rice (from Dear Deceased, who originally auditioned to be the band's vocalist). The band's first full-length album '' The Art of Self Defense'' was released on 12th Records, and released later on Man's Ruin Records. David Icke
David Vaughan Icke (; born 29 April 1952) is an English conspiracy theorist and a former footballer and sports broadcaster. He has written over 20 books, self-published since the mid-1990s, and spoken in more than 25 countries. In 1990, Icke visited a psychic who told him he was on Earth for a purpose and would receive messages from the spirit world. This led him to claim in 1991 to be a "Son of the Godhead" and that the world would soon be devastated by tidal waves and earthquakes. He repeated this on the BBC show '' Wogan''. Arik Roper
Arik Moonhawk Roper (born 1973) is a freelance illustrator and painter based in New York City. Roper grew up in Richmond, Virginia. His parents both being artists, his creativity was encouraged and he spent a great deal of time during childhood drawing. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in 1995 specializing in cartooning, illustration, and silk-screening, he began as a freelance storyboard artist for various ad agencies, and a storyboard revisionist for MTV Animation.
