''Death Below'' is the tenth studio album by American metalcore band August Burns Red. It was released on March 24, 2023, through SharpTone Records. The album was produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. It is the band's first studio release with the label. Background and promotion On March 25, 2022, August Burns Red announced that they had parted ways with Fearless Records and signed with SharpTone Records while also revealed that they are working on the studio album with a teaser newly shared online. On November 1, the band unexpectedly announced the album itself and release date. At the same time, they also revealed the album cover and the track list. On November 3, the band released the first single "Ancestry" featuring Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage and its corresponding music video. August Burns Red is an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, formed in 2003. The band's lineup of guitarists John Benjamin "JB" Brubaker and Brent Rambler, drummer Matt Greiner, lead vocalist Jake Luhrs and bassist Dustin Davidson has remained consistent since 2006. The band was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Metal Performance for the song "Identity" from its 2015 release '' Found in Far Away Places'', and again in 2018 for "Invisible Enemy" from '' Phantom Anthem'' (2017). The band has released ten studio albums to date; their latest, '' Death Below'', was released in 2023. Spencer Chamberlain
Spencer Chamberlain (born January 4, 1983) is an American musician who is the lead vocalist for the Rock music, rock band Underoath. Before fronting Underoath, Chamberlain was the vocalist for the band This Runs Through in which his brother, Phil, was the drummer (who is also the drummer for To Speak of Wolves). Background Spencer Chamberlain was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his mother, and older brother, Phil (also a musician as the drummer for Sullivan (band), Sullivan and To Speak of Wolves). As a child, Chamberlain's family was well-to-do and had enough money to pay tuition at Greensboro Day School. Chamberlain's parents divorced when he was in elementary school at Greensboro Day School. Erra (stylized in all caps as ERRA) is an American progressive metalcore band from Birmingham, Alabama, formed in 2009. The band was named after the homonymous Erra (god), Akkadian god of war and plague. The band has released six studio albums and three EPs to date. Jason Reeves Richardson (born July 30, 1991) is an American guitarist. He is known for his work as a guitarist in both Born of Osiris and Chelsea Grin. He currently works as both a solo artist and as an official member of All That Remains. Career On February 5, 2009, age 17, Richardson replaced Chris Storey of All Shall Perish as a touring member. In late 2011, Richardson parted ways with Born of Osiris. Then, in early 2012, he joined Chelsea Grin. On September 12, 2015, Richardson announced his departure from the band to focus on a solo career. In 2016, Richardson released his debut solo album entitled ''I.'' produced by Taylor Larson. Matthew Wilson Greiner is an American drummer, best known as a founding member of the metalcore band August Burns Red. In 2012, he also cofounded the drum company ''Greiner&Kilmer'' with fellow drummer Kaleb Kilmer. Greiner is an outspoken Christians, Christian. While Greiner is best known for his drumming, he also plays the piano. Career In 2003, he started his musical career. Jake Luhrs
William Jacob Luhrs is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of the metalcore band August Burns Red. He is also the founder and president of HeartSupport, a non-profit mental health organization. Musical background Luhrs was influenced to pursue music after attending a Strike Anywhere concert, where he had a memorable interaction with the band's lead singer, Thomas Barnett. He first entered the music scene in Columbia, South Carolina where he was the frontman for a band known as She Walks In Beauty. The band released two EPs on which Luhrs was featured but eventually disbanded. It was released on June 25, 2013, through Solid State Records and was produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. The album peaked at No. 9 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and No. 2 on the Billboard Top Christian Album chart, losing the No. 1 spot to Skillet's album ''Rise'', which was released on the same day. The Wall of Sound (also called the Spector Sound) is a music production formula developed by American record producer Phil Spector at Gold Star Studios, in the 1960s, with assistance from engineer Larry Levine and the conglomerate of session musicians later known as " the Wrecking Crew". The intention was to exploit the possibilities of studio recording to create an unusually dense orchestral aesthetic that came across well through radios and jukeboxes of the era.
