"Day of Light" is a song by industrial rock band KMFDM that was first released on 1 February 2010, on 7" vinyl, and was limited to 250 copies that sold out in less than 36 hours. The title track on side A features vocals by William Wilson of Legion Within, a band with whom KMFDM frontman Sascha Konietzko worked on two albums. The B-side is an instrumental track. Both tracks were made available for download as mp3s from the KMFDM online store on 13 March 2010, and "Day of Light" was included, along with a remix, on the " Krank" single. KMFDM (originally Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid, loosely translated by the band as "no pity for the majority") is a multinational industrial band from Hamburg led by Sascha Konietzko, who founded the band in 1984 as a performance art project. The band's earliest incarnation included German drummer En Esch and British vocalist Raymond Watts, the latter of whom left and rejoined the group several times over its history. Industrial Music
Industrial music is a genre of music that draws on harsh, mechanical, transgressive or provocative sounds and themes. AllMusic defines industrial music as the "most abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music" that was "initially a blend of avant-garde electronics experiments ( tape music, musique concrète, white noise, synthesizers, sequencers, etc.) and punk provocation". The term was coined in the mid-1970s with the founding of Industrial Records by members of Throbbing Gristle and Monte Cazazza. Sascha Konietzko
Sascha Kegel Konietzko (born 21 June 1961), also known as Sascha K and Käpt'n K, is a German musician and record producer. He is the founder, frontman and "anchor" of the industrial band KMFDM. Konietzko jokingly purports himself to be the father of industrial rock. ''Keyboard Magazine'' wrote of him, "You won't find a more imaginative or effective keyboardist on the hard-core scene." KMFDM Konietzko is best known for his role as frontman of KMFDM. Having founded the group as a performance art project in 1984, he is the only member of KMFDM to appear on every release, and the only founding member still in the band. His main instruments are keyboards and drums, although he is also proficient at playing guitar and bass guitar. "Krank" is a song by industrial rock group KMFDM, the first single from their seventeenth studio album, ''WTF?!''. It was released in North America on 8 March 2011 on the KMFDM and Metropolis record labels, and in Europe on 11 March 2011 on the Dependent label. None of the tracks on the ''Krank'' release are on the album, as the album features a different version of ''Krank'', and does not feature any version of '' Day Of Light''. The single features remixes by band leader Sascha Konietzko, former band members Tim Skold and Bill Rieflin, and Sebastian Komor of Icon of Coil. Industrial Rock
Industrial rock is a fusion genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. Lucia Cifarelli (born September 23, 1970) is an American musician, best known for her work with industrial band KMFDM. She was formerly the vocalist for the band Drill and also performed in KMFDM offshoots MDFMK, KGC, and Schwein. Career Cifarelli got her start recording in studios in New York, eventually forming her own band, Drill, along with future Black Label Society bass guitarist John DeServio. Drill released one self-titled album, spawning two music videos and getting a third song featured in the movie '' Empire Records''. Later in 1995, Drill opened for Stabbing Westward's ''Wither, Blister, Burn, and Peel'' Tour. The band broke up shortly after the end of the tour.
