Day In Day Out (Feeder Song)
"Day In Day Out" is a single from the UK rock band Feeder, and was the first single to be taken from their second album ''Yesterday Went Too Soon''. The lyrics refer to an employee doing the same menial daily tasks, and wanting to get away from it all. Grant once said that the distorted vocal emulates that of a tannoy in a supermarket. The Dandy Warhols 2003 hit "We Used to Be Friends" duplicates the bassline from the track. Feeder's Grant Nicholas was given a co-writer credit on the single and the corresponding album. The track along with its video appeared at #70 on VH2's "Indie 500" rundown of 2004, which was a list of the channel's top 500 indie tracks of all time. Feeder (band)
Feeder are a Welsh rock music, rock band formed in 1994. Scoring 20 UK top 40 singles and 13 UK top 40 albums to date in a career spanning three decades. Feeder are one of the longest-surviving bands to have originated in the UK Britpop scene. At the peak of their commercial success, they won two Kerrang! Awards in 2001 and 2003 and were inducted into their Hall of Fame in August 2019. Although the band formed in 1994,Jon Lee tribute night at T. "We Used to Be Friends" is a song by American alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album ''Welcome to the Monkey House'' in 2003. ''The Singles'' is Feeder's second UK compilation album, following the limited release b-sides album '' Picture of Perfect Youth''. The album has 18 of their UK top 40 hit single tracks (if "Shatter" and "Tender" are separately counted), with the exception of "Day In Day Out" and "Find The Colour", and includes the limited edition Arena Tour single "Comfort In Sound" and three new tracks, "Lost And Found", "Burn The Bridges" and "Save Us". "Lost and Found" and "Save Us" were released as singles to promote the compilation shortly before and after its release, charting at #12 and #34 in the UK respectively, while "Shatter" was released to promote the compilation, shortly after the band announced its release plans in October 2005. ''Welcome to the Monkey House'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band The Dandy Warhols. The album was recorded between September 2001 and December 2002, and released on May 5, 2003 through record label Capitol. The album was originally mixed by Grammy Award-winning soul music engineer Russell Elevado, but Capitol Records were unhappy with releasing it, instead opting for a more polished, synthpop-influenced mix by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran. The original mix of the album was later released as '' The Dandy Warhols Are Sound'' in 2009. ''Yesterday Went Too Soon'' is the second studio album by Welsh rock band Feeder. It was released on 30 August 1999 on The Echo Label. ''Yesterday Went Too Soon'' entered the UK charts at #8, after a decent amount of critical success. The title track gave them their first top 20 single, and the album would in total give the band 4 top 50 hits. Its critical and cult appeal including slots on Top of the Pops for the first time, enabled the album to aid the band's breakthrough which was completed on the follow-up '' Echo Park''. The Dandy Warhols
The Dandy Warhols are an American psychedelic rock, psychedelic/ band, formed in Portland, Oregon, Portland, Oregon, in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström. They were later joined by keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer. The band's name is a play on the name of American pop artist Andy Warhol. "Insomnia" is a song by Welsh rock band Feeder, released as the second single from their album ''Yesterday Went Too Soon''. It reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart and was at the time Feeder's fourth consecutive single to reach the top 40. When the single charted in the UK, it was their biggest hit at the time and got them on the popular now defunct UK music show "Top Of The Pops". From there the band's awareness increased and the follow-up single "Yesterday Went Too Soon" cracked the top 20 and helped the album of the same name go top 10. It also seen their only performance on TFI Friday, also a now defunct TV show.
