David Woiwod
David Woiwod is an Australian television presenter. Woiwod is currently co-host of ''Weekend Sunrise''. Career Early in his career, Woiwod was the state political reporter for '' 10 News First Melbourne'', serving in the role between February 2011 and February 2015. In December 2016, Woiwod joined the Seven Network where he was appointed the Melbourne reporter on its national breakfast television programme ''Sunrise''. In July 2020, Woiwod left ''Sunrise'' after being appointed US correspondent on ''Seven News''. He was later promoted to US bureau chief in May 2023, after Ashlee Mullany relocated to Europe. In December 2024, Woiwod was appointed co-host of ''Weekend Sunrise'', following the departure of Matt Doran. He commenced in the role on 14 December 2024. ''Weekend Sunrise'' is an Australian breakfast television program, broadcast on the Seven Network and currently hosted by Monique Wright and David Woiwod. History In 2005 the Seven Network replaced its struggling Sunday morning program ''Sunday Sunrise'' with a program called ''Weekend Sunrise'', as an extension of the weekday brand. It originally was an hour-long (8 am – 9 am). Hosted by Chris Reason and Lisa Wilkinson, the program was successful and various critiques at the time called for the program to be lengthened to two hours (7:00 am – 9:00 am) and be extended to Saturday mornings as well as Sunday. Matt Doran (born 22 December 1982) is an Australian journalist. Doran has previously been co-host of ''Weekend Sunrise'', a reporter for the Seven Network's flagship public affairs program, ''Sunday Night'' and a reporter and presenter at Network Ten. Matt Shirvington (born 25 October 1978) is an Australian former athlete and television presenter who held the Australian 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. Shirvington is the third fastest Australian sprinter of all time. He qualified for the 100m semi-finals in Sydney 2000, finishing 5th. Shirvington is currently co-host of the Seven Network's breakfast television program ''Sunrise'' alongside Natalie Barr. Athletics Shirvington generally competed in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay events, finding the most success in the 100m sprint.
