Matt Shirvington
Matt Shirvington (born 25 October 1978) is an Australian athlete and television presenter who held the Australian 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. Shirvington is the third fastest Australian sprinter of all time. He qualified for the 100m semi-finals in Sydney 2000, finishing 5th. Shirvington is currently a sport presenter on '' Seven News Sydney'' and host of ''Sydney Weekender.'' Athletics Shirvington generally competed in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay events, finding the most success in the 100m sprint. He competed in the 2000 Olympic Games, the Athletics World Championships from 1999 to 2007 and the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2006. From 1998 Shirvington claimed five consecutive Australian national titles for the 100m sprint event. Patrick Johnson (born 26 September 1972 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia) is an Australian athlete of Aboriginal and Irish descent. He is the current Oceanian and Australian record holder in the 100 metres with a time of 9.93 seconds, which he achieved in Mito, Japan, on 5 May 2003. With that time he became the first person not of African ancestry to break the 10-second barrier (Frankie Fredericks, a Namibian, had been the first non-West-African in 1991). ''Sydney Weekender'' is an Australian travel show featuring destinations throughout the state of New South Wales. The program debuted in 1994 on Saturdays at 5:30pm, later moving to Sundays at the same time before the local nightly news bulletin. It is hosted by Matt Shirvington and airs on the Seven Network in New South Wales and nationally on 7Two. The program visits various locations in the state highlighting activities, attractions, and dining options. ''Sydney Weekender'' reached a milestone of 750 episodes on 18 August 2012.
