David Viana
David Gonçalves Viana (born 22 January 1992) is a footballer who plays as a midfielder for ASC Biesheim. Born in France, he has represented Portugal at youth level. Club career Early career Born in Strasbourg, France, Viana was part of RC Strasbourg B, the reserve team of RC Strasbourg Alsace. After Strasbourg was relegated from Ligue 1, Viana transferred to Atlético Madrid and was part of their C squad for a year, making 20 appearances. Real Salt Lake Despite being offered a contract extension by Atlético, Viana signed for Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake on a free transfer on 18 September 2012 following a week-long trial and a MLS Reserve League appearance against Sporting Kansas City. MLS Reserve League
The MLS Reserve League was a association football, soccer league for the reserve teams of Major League Soccer with teams in both the United States and Canada. It was inaugurated on April 9, 2005, with the first official reserve game being a 2–0 victory by Chivas USA over the host San Jose Earthquakes. The reserve division disbanded after the 2008 season but returned in 2011 with 18 clubs split into East, Central, and West divisions. Each club played ten games consisting of home-and-away matches versus each of its five divisional opponents.
