David Pratt (politician)
David Pratt (born January 3, 1955) is a Canadian former politician. He was the Member of Parliament for Nepean—Carleton from 1997 until 2004. Early political career Before Pratt was elected federally, he served in public office municipally. In 1988, he won a seat on Nepean City Council. His re-election in 1991 also gave him a seat on the Ottawa-Carleton Regional Municipality Council. In the municipal election of 1994, his candidacy was uncontested and he was acclaimed. On Nepean Council, Pratt served a term as Deputy Mayor and chaired the committees of Public Works and Parks and Recreation. On Regional Council, he worked on transportation and environment issues and was a member of the Ottawa-Carleton Police Services Board and the OC Transpo Commission. David Pratt (Canadian Broadcaster)
David Pratt is a former Canadian sports radio personality who co-hosted Vancouver's CKST TSN 1040 morning show from 2013 to 2019. With Don Taylor, he hosted the weekday afternoon talk show '' Pratt and Taylor'' from 2001 to 2011. Pratt was quoted in 2008 as saying the program had the highest sports-talk audience share "in the history of Canadian radio." In September 2011, Pratt's contract was not renewed by CKST. He moved to CKNW 980 to host a sports show but returned to CKST in September 2013, teaming up with Bro Jake Edwards for a 6-10 a.m. morning show. Pratt left CKST on March 13, 2019 due to cutbacks by Bell Media. Pratt had a running feud with former Vancouver Canucks general manager Brian Burke that often found its way on to the show. David Pratt (born 20 July 1938) is a former English first-class cricketer who played between 1959 and 1962 for three different teams. He also played minor counties cricket for Hertfordshire. He was a specialist bowler, and his batting at number 11 didn't rival his bowling talent. He made his first-class debut for Worcestershire in May 1959 against Derbyshire at Chesterfield, but took no wickets. He did not play in the first-team again until early August, when Worcestershire played Surrey at Worcester, but he then produced what was to remain a career-best performance. After going wicketless in the first innings, second time around he took 5-54, all his victims being current or future Test cricketers: Micky Stewart, Ken Barrington, Eric Bedser, Jim Laker and Alec Bedser. David Pratt (footballer)
David Pratt (5 March 1896 – 28 July 1967) was a Scottish football player and manager. His career encompassed time spent in both England and Scotland, as well as a spell in Wales. As a player, he was used both as a defender and as a midfielder on the outside left. He started his career at Celtic in 1919, before moving to England two years later to play for Bradford City. In 1923 he moved on to Liverpool, where he would remain for the next four years. He then ended his playing career after spells with Bury and Yeovil Town. He got his break in management with Yeovil Town in 1929, before he was installed as Clapton Orient manager in 1933. His reign was to only last one year, and he spent a spell in 1935 as Notts County manager, before he returned to Scotland later in the year to manage Heart of Midlothian. David Foster Pratt
David Foster Pratt (11 January 1918 – 21 November 2010) was an American artist, art instructor and designer. He was best known for his watercolor and oil landscapes. Pratt served as the director of the Art Institute of Buffalo in the late 1940s and early 1950s. During his tenure at the institute, he worked closely with Charles Burchfield. He lived and worked most of his life in western New York. His works have been exhibited in many northeastern and mid-west states. David Pratt is a Scottish journalist, documentary filmmaker, photographer, and author who has won Scottish Press awards as Scottish Journalist of the Year, Reporter of the Year, and Feature Writer of the Year. As well as being a war reporter his photography has featured in his 2020 documentary '' Pictures from Afghanistan'' and 2022 documentary '' Pictures from Iraq.'' David Beresford Pratt (1 October 1908 – 1 October 1961) was a British-South African businessman, farmer, and anti- apartheid activist. A wealthy liberal who was deeply upset over black poverty and racial segregation, and outraged by the Sharpeville massacre, Pratt attempted to assassinate South African Prime Minister Hendrik Verwoerd in 1960. Verwoerd survived, but was killed six years later by Dimitri Tsafendas. Life Pratt was a farmer and wealthy businessman of British descent. He studied at Gonville and Caius College University of Cambridge, England, where he studied Economics (part I) and Law (part II), graduating in 1931 with a third class honours degree. David Wixon Pratt is an American physicist, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh. He was awarded an A.B. in Chemistry by Princeton University in 1959 and, after serving as a fleet officer in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962, gained a Ph.D. in 1967 from the University of California at Berkeley on magnetic resonance.
