During his time as mayor, the church was renovated and he was the manager of the Maurer drinking water supply from 1931 to 1932. David Bühler
David Bühler (6 February 1872 – 26 July 1938) was an accountant and politician from Liechtenstein who served as the mayor of Mauren from 1930 to 1933. He educated as an accountant in Dornbirn and Laa an der Thaya, then he worked as a legal agent in Mauren and also as a farmer. From 1923 to 1931 he was the president of the state tax commission. During his time as mayor, Bühler was responsible for raising funds for a community water supply and a church building fund. He resigned from the position in October 1933. Oswald Bühler
Oswald Bühler (2 March 1899 – 8 December 1962) was a lawyer and politician from Liechtenstein who served in the Landtag of Liechtenstein from 1939 to 1945 and again from 1949 to 1957. He also served as the Mayor of Mauren from 1948 to 1962. Career Bühler was born on 2 March 1899 in Mauren as the son of accountant David Bühler and Wilhelmine Marock as one of four children. In 1918, he joined the Progressive Citizens' Party and from 1936 to 1939 he was a member of the Mauren municipal council. Throughout the 1930s, he as a prominent opponent of fascist elements within Liechtenstein, such as the Liechtenstein Homeland Service and German National Movement in Liechtenstein. At some point, Bühler took over his father's legal firm. He was elected to the Landtag of Liechtenstein in 1939 as a member of the Progressive Citizens' Party as a part of the unified list between the party and the Patriotic Union for the formation of a coalition government. The Historical Lexicon of the Principality of Liechtenstein () is an encyclopedia on the history of Liechtenstein, first published in 2013 and available for free on the internet since 2018. History The project was heavily inspired by the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland. In 1990 historian Arthur Brunhart became editor in chief of the project, then project manager from 2001 to 2013. Supported by a scientific advisory board that met twice a year, Brunhart was the sole editor responsible for implementing the project from 1990 onwards. He initiated four Liechtenstein seminars ranging from 1994 to 1996 held at the universities of Zurich, Freiburg, Innsbruck and Salzburg respectively dedicated to the development of the historical lexicon. As it became apparent that human resources were limited in the development of the project, it was transferred to the Liechtenstein government after the Landtag of Liechtenstein had approved to fund the project in 2000.
