David Castell
David Castell is an American record producer, musician, and recording engineer based in Dallas, Texas. Castell's recording career spans nearly three decades; his work with many major record labels and independent labels alike includes both platinum-selling national recording artists and unsigned regional acts, and a wide range of musical genres. He has been instrumental in career albums of Blue October, Burden Brothers, Course of Empire, Deep Blue Something, and SouthFM. In spring 2008, Castell began production of the Toadies’ album ''No Deliverance'', which was released on August 19th, 2008, on Kirtland Records. After two years of collaboration with DFW-based electronic band Shock of Pleasure, their first full-length album ''Its About Time'', was released on September 16th, 2008, by Universal Music Group, produced by David Castell. Vaden Todd Lewis
Vaden Danger Todd Lewis (born September 3, 1965) is an American musician best known as the vocalist and guitarist for Toadies, an alternative rock band from Fort Worth, Texas. Lewis was also the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Dallas-based Burden Brothers. In July 2017, Lewis opened The Loop Artist Rehearsal Studios in Fort Worth. Early life Vaden Todd Lewis was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1965. At an early age, his parents introduced him to bluegrass and "old school country," which together with locally popular Texas band ZZ Top became his initial musical influences. Around age 15, Lewis began seeking out different non-commercial sounds, which introduced him to Talking Heads and the Pixies. "Calling You" is a song by American alternative rock band Blue October. It was initially released in 2003 as the only single from the album '' History for Sale'', peaking at number 35 on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart. It later gained a resurgence of popularity and radio play after it was included on the '' American Wedding'' soundtrack. It was, for a time, the group's largest mainstream hit until " Hate Me" peaked at number 31 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 2006. In July 2007, the song was remixed and re-released to radio. Kirtland Records is a record label based in Dallas, Texas, with offices in Los Angeles, California and New York City. It was co-founded by Deep Blue Something drummer John Kirtland and his wife, Jenny Kirtland of The Polyphonic Spree. History Kirtland Records was founded by John Kirtland, the drummer of alternative rock band Deep Blue Something. After the band broke apart, Kirtland went to work at Trauma Records, an Interscope-affiliated label which launched artists such as Bush and No Doubt. When Trauma Records founder Rob Kahane encountered financial difficulties, he borrowed money from Kirtland, offering as collateral the rights to the Bush back-catalog and royalty rights on the sales of the No Doubt album ''Tragic Kingdom''. ''No Deliverance'' is the third studio album by Toadies. It was released in 2008 on Kirtland Records. ''No Deliverance'' is the band's first album seven years after the band's previous album, ''Hell Below/Stars Above'', and the first since the band's reunion in 2006. It is also the band's only album without an official bass player, with bass duties being handled by Vaden Todd Lewis. The album was promoted by two singles, "No Deliverance" and "Song I Hate", the former which reached number 38 on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. Deep Blue Something is an American rock band who are known for their 1995 hit single " Breakfast at Tiffany's" from their second album ''Home''. ''Home'' achieved gold-record status; however, the band parted ways with Interscope Records and went on creative hiatus for several years, only releasing the follow-up '' Byzantium'' in Japan and some European countries. Course of Empire was an industrial/alternative rock band based in Dallas, Texas, from 1988 to 1998. The band's final incarnation consisted of founding members vocalist Vaughn Stevenson, guitarist Mike Graff, and bassist Paul Semrad. The band also consisted of two drummers throughout their existence, with Chad Lovell and Michael Jerome as the final duo.
