Dave Dunlop
John David Dunlop (born September 18, 1965, in Ottawa, Ontario) is a Canadian guitarist, composer, producer, recording engineer, and vocalist. Dunlop was a member, writer, guitarist, and backup singer in the Canadian rock band The Full Nine (Disney's Mammoth Records). Since 1996, he has had a successful musical relationship with Rik Emmett, sharing guitar-playing duties in The Rik Emmett Band, Strung-Out Troubadours, and Triumph. In 2007, Strung-Out Troubadours won "Album of the Year" and "Group/Duo Of The Year" at the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards, where they were the most heavily nominated act. Both Dunlop and his partner Rik Emmett were also nominated for "Best Guitarist". He has been an integral member of Jeans 'n Classics since 2005, travelling around North America playing Pop and Rock shows with orchestras playing the music of Pink Floyd, The Beatlebackup Beck, Eric Clapton, and others. Don Breithaupt (born April 8, 1961) is a Canadian pianist, singer/songwriter, composer, arranger, producer and author. He received his musical education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied Jazz Composition and Arranging, and his literary education at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, receiving a B.A. (Honours) in English and Film Studies. Randy Cooke
Randy Cooke is a Canadian-American drummer, percussionist, session musician, and touring musician. Biography Influenced by his drummer father, Cooke picked up the drums as a child, learning and playing as part of a local drum corps before starting his own bands as a teenager. After high school, he took his talents to the recording studio and the national stage, recording and/or touring with the likes of FM, Lee Aaron, Strange Advance, Marc Jordan, Rik Emmett, Amy Sky, Sass Jordan, Kim Mitchell, Edwin, Alannah Myles, and Alanis Morissette, and quickly emerged as one of Canada's top session musicians. Mike Levine (musician)
Michael Stephen Levine (born 1 June 1949) is the bassist and keyboardist for the Canadian hard rock band Triumph. Early life Levine was born in Toronto, Ontario. He attended Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute in Scarborough. Career In 1970 Levine helped to bring back together the band Motherlode, which had broken up after releasing one hit single and a couple of less popular recordings. They toured around northern and western Ontario before disbanding once again. Levine played bass in the Toronto blues band Abernathy Shagnaster's Wash and Wear Band with guitarist Fred Keeler, keyboardists Peter Young and drummer Gil Moore. After the band's first single was recorded, Keeler and Young left; Levine and Moore recruited guitarist Rik Emmett, and the three founded the heavy metal band Triumph in 1974. Gil Moore
Gil Moore is a Canadian musician. Born in Toronto, Moore is the drummer and co-vocalist (sharing vocal duties with guitarist/vocalist Rik Emmett) of the power trio Triumph. Before Moore was in Triumph he was in a band called Sherman & Peabody which also featured Buzz Shearman of Moxy and Greg Godovitz of Goddo. He co-wrote and contributed lead vocals to a number of Triumph songs and also performed this function live. While Emmett's vocals and songwriting tended toward the more melodic side of Triumph, Moore's vocal and writing style was more blues/hard rock oriented, although on the original line-up's last two albums, Moore also began writing and singing lead on a number of softer, ballad-style songs. Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 in Boston, Massachusetts. The band comprises John Petrucci (guitar), John Myung (bass), Mike Portnoy (drums), James LaBrie (vocals) and Jordan Rudess (keyboards). Kevin James LaBrie (born May 5, 1963) is a Canadian singer, best known as the lead singer of the American progressive metal band Dream Theater, which he has been fronting since 1991. Early life Kevin James LaBrie was born in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada and started playing drums at age five. By his mid-teens, he was a member of several bands as a front man that attempted singing and/or drumming. He stopped playing drums at age 17 and in 1981, at age 18, he moved to Toronto. Rush (band)
Rush was a Canadian rock music, rock band formed in Toronto in 1968 that consisted primarily of Geddy Lee (vocals, bass, keyboards), Alex Lifeson (guitars) and Neil Peart (drums, percussion). The band's original line-up consisted of Lifeson, drummer John Rutsey, and bassist and vocalist Jeff Jones (bassist), Jeff Jones, whom Lee immediately replaced.
