Dave Chisnall
Dave Chisnall (born 12 September 1980) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He began his career in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and was the runner-up in their World Championship in 2010. He switched to the PDC a year later where he has since reached six major TV finals and won 17 PDC ranking events. Since his switch to the PDC, Chisnall has been a staple in the top 20 of the rankings, appearing in the Premier League five times, and representing England at the PDC World Cup on three occasions. Career Early career Chisnall was brought up in St Helens and played for a local football team until he was 17 when he broke his foot. He switched to darts and first played in a friend's bedroom, throwing 180 on his first ever visit to the board. The 2012 Speedy Hire UK Open was a Darts tournament staged in the UK by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was the tenth year of the tournament where, following numerous regional qualifying heats throughout Britain, players competed in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. The tournament was held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England, between 7–10 June 2012, and has the nickname, "the FA Cup of darts" as a random draw is staged after each round until the final. Robert Thornton won the tournament beating Phil Taylor 11–5 in the final to win his first PDC major. The 2019 Jack's Casino World Series of Darts Finals was the fifth staging of the World Series of Darts Finals tournament, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament took place at the AFAS Live, Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 1–3 November 2019. It featured a field of 24 players. James Wade was the defending champion after defeating Michael Smith 11–10 in the 2018 final. The 2018 Paddy Power Champions League of Darts was the 3rd annual staging of the tournament, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. It took place from 22–23 September 2018 at the Brighton Centre, Brighton. The defending champion Mensur Suljović lost 4–11 against Gary Anderson in the semi-final; a rematch of the 2017 final. Anderson went on to win his first Champions League title by defeating compatriot Peter Wright 11–4 in the final. It was Anderson's 10th major title and 8th in the PDC. It was also Anderson's 3rd major title of the season after winning that year's UK Open and World Matchplay. The 2017 Champions League of Darts, also known as the Unibet Champions League of Darts for sponsorship purposes, was the 2nd annual staging of the tournament, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. It took place from 16–17 September 2017 at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff, Wales. Phil Taylor was the defending champion after winning the first edition of the tournament against Michael van Gerwen 11–5, but lost in the semi-finals to Gary Anderson. The 2022 Ladbrokes Masters was the tenth staging of the non-ranking Masters darts tournament, held by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). It was held from 28 to 30 January 2022 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England.
