Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium
The Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, previously the Beausejour Cricket Ground, is a cricket ground located near Gros Islet, Saint Lucia standard seating capacity of 15,000. It was completed in 2002. Originally named after the Beausejour hills and situated in the outskirts of Rodney Bay, the stadium was completed in 2002 and hosts domestic matches for the Windward Islands cricket team. It staged its first international Test match in 2003 against Sri Lanka and became the first venue in the Caribbean to host a day-night game. The sporting facility was constructed on 22 acres consisting of about 18 hospitality suites and a pavilion that offers each team its own gym and lounge apart from a balcony and conference room. It is located in the driest area of Saint Lucia, making it most suitable for hosting cricket. Gros Islet (English: ''Large Island'') is a community near the northern tip of the island country of Saint Lucia, in the Gros Islet Quarter. Castries () is the capital city, capital and largest city of Saint Lucia, an island country in the Caribbean. Kemar Andre Jamal Roach (born 30 June 1988) is a Barbadian people, Barbadian international cricketer who plays for the West Indies cricket team, West Indies in Test cricket, Test and One Day Internationals. As a pacer, Roach initially reached speeds of over 90 mph on regular occasions. After some time he adapted his bowling style, due to injuries and diminshed pace, to encourage augmented swing and movement of the ball. Deshabandu Muttiah Muralitharan (born 1972) is a Sri Lankan cricket coach, businessman and former professional cricketer. Corey Dalanelo Collymore (born 21 December 1977) is a former Barbadian cricketer, who represented the West Indies team in both Tests and ODIs cricket as seam bowler. Collymore was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy. Collymore also played for Barbados, Warwickshire, Sussex and Middlesex in his cricketing career. In cricket, a batsman is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batsman is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Keshav Athmanand Maharaj (born 7 February 1990) is a South African professional cricketer. Maharaj represents the South Africa national team in Tests, ODI and T20I cricket.
