Darren Cann (footballer)
Darren Cann (born 17 June 1969) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. He is the men's soccer coach at St. Thomas University in New Brunswick. Career Cann was born in Torquay. He joined Torquay United as an apprentice, making his debut v Burnley in the 1986–87 season whilst still an apprentice as Torquay, managed by Stuart Morgan struggled to retain their place in the Football League. He turned professional in June 1987, but was released at the end of the following season having made 12 league appearances, scoring one goal. In 1987 Cann was selected to represent the FA Colts 11. While with Torquay, he also had a spell on loan with Weymouth. In July 1988 he joined Barnstaple Town and embarked on a successful career in semi-professional football. Torquay
Torquay ( ) is a seaside town in Devon, England, part of the unitary authority area of Torbay. It lies south of the county town of Exeter and east-north-east of Plymouth, on the north of Tor Bay, adjoining the neighbouring town of Paignton on the west of the bay and across from the fishing port of Brixham. Stuart Edward Morgan (born 23 September 1949 in Swansea) is a Welsh former professional footballer and football manager. A defender (association football), central defender, he made 222 appearances in the Football League playing for Torquay United F.C., Torquay United, Reading F.C., Reading, Colchester United F.C., Colchester United and AFC Bournemouth. As manager, he took charge of Torquay United F.C., Torquay United in the Football League and Weymouth F.C., Weymouth (twice) and Dorchester Town F.C., Dorchester Town in non-League football. The Football Association Challenge Vase, also known as the Isuzu FA Vase for sponsorship reasons, is an annual football competition run by and named after The Football Association (The FA), for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System. Minehead is a coastal town and civil parish in Somerset, England. It lies on the south bank of the Bristol Channel, north-west of the county town of Taunton, from the boundary with the county of Devon and close to the Exmoor National Park.
