The Sober or Slammer 200 is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race held at Darlington Raceway. The distance of the race is approximately , contested over 147 laps. Ross Chastain is the defending winner of this race, having won it in 2024. History First ran in 2001, it was taken off the schedule after the 2004 season. In 2009, they announced after a six-year hiatus, Darlington would return to the Truck Series in August 2010. At the end of the year, they moved the race from August to mid-March for 2011. The race had been held under the lights since 2004. On November 21, 2011, it was announced that the event would once again be removed from the schedule. The race returned to the Truck Series schedule in 2020 on Labor Day weekend initially as a one-off replacement date for the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ted Musgrave
Theodore David Musgrave Sr. (born December 18, 1955) is an American former stock car racing driver. Pre-NASCAR Musgrave's father, Elmer, was a famous short-track racer in the Midwest who raced for over 25 years at Soldier Field, O'Hare, Waukegan, and Wilmot, Wisconsin before moving into asphalt late models in the American Speed Association (ASA) and ARCA. "I was really young at the time," Musgrave said. "But I can still remember sitting in the infield at Milwaukee and watching him race against drivers like Paul Goldsmith. He finally retired so he could help my older brother, Tom, and I get started." He began racing in 1977 at age 22 at Waukegan in a 1967 Ford Galaxy that he inherited from his brother. Portland International Raceway (PIR) is a motorsport facility in Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is part of the Delta Park complex on the former site of Vanport, just south of the Columbia River. It lies west of the Delta Park/Vanport light rail station and less than a mile west of Interstate 5. The website was founded by Jay "Jayski" Adamczyk in 1996 (who was a fan of Mark Donohue) after he had difficulty finding news regarding the Melling Racing team, and subsequently worked to get all NASCAR news grouped together on the site.
