Daniel Sternefeld
Daniel Sternefeld ( Antwerp, 27 November 1905 – Brussels, 2 June 1986) was a Belgian composer and conductor. Life and career Sternefeld took private lessons with Renaat Veremans and Paul Gilson at the Royal Conservatory of Flanders in Antwerp, after which he studied conducting under Frank van der Stucken. He completed his studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Bernard Paumgartner, Clemens Krauss and Herbert von Karajan. In 1929, he joined the orchestra of the Royal Flemish Opera, and in 1938, he was appointed as its principal conductor. Between 1930 and 1940 Sternefeld was also working for the ''Koninklijke Nederlandse Schouwburg'' of Antwerp, for whom he wrote incidental music. He also conducted the ''Cercle musical juif'' and several choral societies in Antwerp. During the occupation Sternefeld, an ethnic Jew, was forced into hiding in Antwerp. Frédéric Devreese
Frédéric Devreese (2 June 1929 – 28 September 2020) was a Belgian composer of mostly orchestral, chamber and piano works that have been performed throughout the world; he was also active as a conductor. Devreese is known for his film scores, including '' Benvenuta'' by André Delvaux and ''The Cruel Embrace'' by Marion Hänsel. Career Born in Amsterdam, Devreese received his first musical training from his father, the composer-conductor (1893–1972). He studied composition with Marcel Poot and conducting with in Brussels, composition with Ildebrando Pizzetti at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome from 1952 to 1955 and conducting with Hans Swarowsky at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna in 1955–56. Arturo Tamayo Ballesteros (born 3 August 1946) is a Spanish conductor and music teacher. Life Tamayo studied music at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, while studying Law at the Complutense University of Madrid. He finally opted for music and finished his studies with an honorary prize in composition. He completed his training outside Spain in Basel with Pierre Boulez and in Vienna with Witold Rowicki.
