Daily Racing Form
The ''Daily Racing Form'' (DRF) (referred to as the ''Racing Form'' or "Form" and sometimes "telegraph" or "telly") is a tabloid newspaper founded in 1894 in Chicago, Illinois, by Frank Brunell. The paper publishes the past performances of racehorses as a statistical service for bettors covering horse racing in North America. The first edition of the DRF was published in Chicago in November 1894. DRF publishes up to 35 regional editions every day but Christmas. In cooperation with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association and the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters Association, the ''Daily Racing Form'' selects the winners of the annual Eclipse Awards. Eclipse Award
The Eclipse Award is an American Thoroughbred horse racing award named after the 18th-century British racehorse and sire, Eclipse. An Eclipse Award Trophy is presented to the winner in each division. The trophy is made by a few small selected American foundries with expertise in studio bronze casting. It is then mounted on the hand-crafted native Kentucky walnut base to comprise the Eclipse Award on which a brass plate recites the award winner. Moses Louis Annenberg (February 11, 1877 – July 20, 1942) was an American newspaper publisher who owned the ''Daily Racing Form'' and the ''Philadelphia Inquirer''. He also owned General News Bureau, a wire service that reported the results of horse races. An immigrant who rose from a newspaper boy to newspaper owner, he was the father of ''TV Guide'' creator Walter Annenberg.
