Daigo Higa
is a Japanese professional boxer who held the WBC flyweight title from 2017 to 2018. Amateur career Higa turned pro at the age of 18, after a brief amateur career where he accrued a 36–8 record. Professional career Higa's manager is Boxing Hall of Fame member Yoko Gushiken. Higa made his professional debut in June 2014, defeating Saengkeng Saknarong by technical knockout less than a minute into the first round. He won his first title by stopping previously undefeated Thai fighter Kongfah CP Freshmart in 7 rounds to claim the WBC Youth flyweight title. He went on to defend that title twice before claiming the OPBF flyweight belt against Filipino gatekeeper Ardin Diale. Cristofer Jordan Rosales González (born 6 October 1994) is a Nicaraguan professional boxer who held the WBC flyweight title in 2018. Professional career Rosales turned professional in 2013 and had a record 26–3 before challenging Japanese boxer Daigo Higa for the vacant WBC flyweight title. During the weigh-in for the fight Higa missed weight and the title became vacant with only Rosales eligible to win it. In the fight itself Rosales would go on to stop Higa in the ninth round to capture the vacant WBC title. In his first title defence, Rosales defeated two-time Olympic bronze medalist Paddy Barnes. Barnes started the fight well, but Rosales caught him with a body shot in the fourth, from which Barnes could not get up. The Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) is a professional boxing organization that sanctions title fights in the Asian and Pacific region. History Oriental boxing started in the Philippines in 1946 after the Spanish-American War. While America was stationed in the Philippines, boxing began to build up in popularity due to American influence. Many Filipinos who were inspired by boxing, moved to Honolulu, Hawaii to continue their careers. In the year 1910 there was a Yujiro Watanabe, of Japan, a boxer-turned-promoter who laid important groundwork in developing the sport in Japan and bridging language and cultural barriers with neighboring countries. Ardin Bayata Diale (born 23 August 1988) is a professional boxer from the Philippines who challenged for the WBO flyweight title in 2011, losing to Julio César Miranda by technical knockout. Later on, Diale has settled into a gatekeeper role, holding losses to Juan Francisco Estrada, Koki Eto, and Daigo Higa. Diale has held the OPBF title between 2015 and 2016. He won the title by beating Renoel Pael by unanimous decision, and defended it successfully once before losing to Higa. Ryōgoku Kokugikan
, also known as Ryōgoku Sumo Hall or Kokugikan Arena, is the name bestowed to two different indoor sporting arenas located in Tokyo. The fist ''Ryōgoku Kokugikan'' opened its doors in 1909 and was located on the lands of the Ekōin temple in Ryōgoku, Tokyo. Although no sumo bouts were held after 1945, following the capitulation of Japan and the requisition of the building by the occupying forces, the building itself remained active until 1983, being notably used by the Nihon University.
