Sindhis are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group originating from and native to Sindh, a region of Pakistan, who share a common Sindhi culture, history, ancestry, and language. The historical homeland of Sindhis is bordered by southeastern Balochistan; the Bahawalpur region of Punjab; the Marwar region of Rajasthan; and the Kutch region of Gujarat. Sindhis are the third-largest ethnic group in Pakistan, after the Punjabis and Pashtuns, forming a majority in Sindh with historical communities also found in neighbouring Balochistan. Sindhi Sammat
The Sammat (; ''sammāṭ'', ''samāṭr'', ''sammāṭh'') is the indigenous community of Sindhi people consisting of old local tribes, they are a large community in Sindhi Muslims. Hindu Sammats are also extant. Sammat refers to Sindhis with indigenous origins. The Sammat tribes have existed in the region since ancient times. The Sammats are considered to be a traditionally privileged group in the Sindhi society. Sammat rulers were praised by Bhittai, a popular 18th century poet of the Sindhi language. In contemporary Sindh, the Sammat castes are regarded as second in rank to Sayeds and other castes of Arab descent. Daharki
Daharki () is a city in Ghotki District in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is the capital of Daharki Taluka, an administrative subdivision of the district with an area of 2,088 km2. It is situated about 100 km north-east of Sukkur, between Mirpur Mathelo and Ubauro on Pakistan's N-5 National Highway. According to the 2023 Census of Pakistan, it is the 25th largest city of Sindh, having a population of 335,145. History Ghotki was founded as a camp by an Ambassador General of Raja Ibn Selaj Birhman (a relative of Raja Dahar of Sindh) in 637 A.D. At that time it was named as Hath Sam. In 712 A.D, Mohammad Bin Qasim conquered Sindh by defeating Raja Dahar, Ghot Ibn Samed Ibn Patel, the grandson of Raja Dahar, was settled in the area as he converted to Islam and in whose name the Ghota tribe came into being. Ghotki District (; ) is a Districts of Pakistan, district of the province of Sindh, Pakistan, with headquarter in the city of Mirpur Mathelo. Prior to its establishment as a district in 1993, it formed part of Sukkur District. Geography Ghotki District is stretched in 6083 km2 (1,555,528 acres). 25,000 acres area of the district consisting of desert land, 402,578 acres (25.88%) is flooded (Katcha) area and remaining area lying between desert and flooded areas of district is cultivated. Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar (; born 1 January 1953) is a Pakistani politician hailing from Bashirabad village, Ubauro, Ghotki District belong to Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians. He was the Minister of Education and Literacy in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh. He was elected Senator from Sindh on 3 March 2021.
