Dagmar Olrik
Dagmar Olrik (1860–1932) was a Danish painter and tapestry artist. She is remembered for her weaving and tapestry work, in particular for decorating a room in Copenhagen City Hall, Copenhagen's City Hall with tapestries based on cartoons of Nordic mythology created by Lorenz Frølich. For 18 years, she headed a group of tapestry artists in the City Hall's weaving room where the work was completed. She also restored tapestries for several Danish museums and stately homes. Biography Born on 28 June 1860 in Copenhagen, Dagmar Olrik was the daughter of the painter Henrik Olrik, Henrik Benedictus Olrik and Hermina Valentiner. She was raised with seven siblings in a household interested in culture and learning. Lorenz Frølich
Lorenz Frølich (25 October 182025 October 1908) was a Denmark, Danish painter, illustrator, graphic artist and etcher. Early life and education Frølich was born into a wealthy bourgeouis family in Copenhagen. The son of Johan Jacob Frølich (1777-1858) and Pouline Wilhelmine Tutein (1789-1881). His father owned a successful trading firm in partnership with his brother. His mother was the daughter of Friederich Tutein, another wealthy wholesaler and the Prussian consul in Copenhagen. Frølich's father and uncle owned the building at Store Kongensgade 81. He lived with his parents in the apartment on the first floor. The uncle lived with his wife in the ground-floor apartment. Vestre Cemetery (, meaning "Western Cemetery") is located in a large park setting in the Kongens Enghave district of Copenhagen, Denmark. With its 54 hectares it is the largest cemetery in Denmark. The cemetery is landscaped and serves as an important Urban open space, open space, in which people take a stroll, and look at the old graves and monuments. Copenhagen City Hall
Copenhagen City Hall () is the headquarters of the Copenhagen City Council as well as the Lord mayor of the Copenhagen Municipality, Denmark. The building is situated on City Hall Square in central Copenhagen. Architecture The current building was inaugurated in 1905. It was designed by the architect Martin Nyrop in the National Romantic style but with inspiration from the Siena City Hall. It is dominated by its richly ornamented front, the gilded statue of Absalon just above the balcony and the tall, slim clock tower.
