DYAB (1512 AM) Radyo Patrol was a radio station owned and operated by ABS-CBN Corporation. The station's studio and office were located at the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Complex, North Road, Brgy. Jagobiao, Mandaue, while its transmitter was located at Brgy. Cogon Pardo, Cebu City. DYAB originally operated on a 24-hour, 7-day schedule from its inception in 1995. Similar to Manila-based DZMM, DYAB also had a television channel on Sky Cable named DYAB TeleRadyo Cebu where the studio and hosts of its programs can be seen by its listeners and viewers. Selected programs of DZMM were also aired on the station. On May 5, 2020, the station suspended its broadcasting activities, following the cease-and-desist order issued by the National Telecommunications Commission due to the expiration of ABS-CBN's legislative license to operate. Leo Andanar Lastimosa (born September 26, 1964) is a veteran tri-media journalist in Cebu City, Philippines. He is a former anchorman for ABS-CBN's regional news program, TV Patrol Central Visayas, the host of current affairs program '' Arangkada'' over radio station DYAB, and a columnist in Cebu's newspaper ''The Freeman.'' Early life Lastimosa was a son of a farmer and a public school teacher. Growing up in Talisay in poverty, he dreamed of becoming a writer. The ABS-CBN franchise renewal controversy is a national dispute in the Philippines regarding the renewal of the congressional franchise that would have allowed Philippine media network ABS-CBN to continue broadcasting. Disputes between the government of President Rodrigo Duterte and ABS-CBN arose on the terms and conditions of the franchise renewal agreement.
