LithTech Games
LithTech is a game engine developed by Monolith Productions and comparable with the Quake engine, Quake and Unreal Engine, Unreal engines. Monolith and a number of other video game developers have used LithTech as the basis for their first-person shooter games. Monolith initially developed the engine for Microsoft before purchasing the rights to it and licensing it to other developers via subsidiary LithTech Inc. The licensing company was renamed to Touchdown Entertainment in 2003 and later absorbed into Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment after its acquisition of Monolith. The last version of LithTech offered for licensing was Jupiter EX, initially released in 2005, however Monolith has continued to use LithTech technology in their games, including ''Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor'', released in 2014. After the release of ''Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor'', the studio started working on a new engine (based on LithTech technology) for larger-scale battles called "Firebird". ...

Monolith Productions
Monolith Productions, Inc. was an American video game developer based in Kirkland, Washington. The company was a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Games from August 2004 until its shutdown in 2025. It formerly published third-party games in the 1990s. In February 2025, it was reported that Warner Bros. Games had decided to close the studio. History Monolith Productions was founded on October 25, 1994 by Bryan Bouwman, Toby Gladwell, Brian Goble, Jace Hall, Garrett Price, Paul Renault, and Brian Waite. Co-founder Brian Goble had this to say regarding the company name. Several of the founders, include Hall, were employees of software company Edmark at the time, and the group had gotten together frequently to play games like '' Doom''. Several felt they could try their own hand at making video games. Project Origin
''F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin'' is a 2009 first-person shooter psychological horror video game for PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360. Developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, it was released for all platforms in February 2009. It is the second game in the ''F.E.A.R.'' series and is followed by ''F.E.A.R. 3''. Bump Mapping
Bump mapping is a texture mapping technique in computer graphics for simulating bumps and wrinkles on the surface of an object. This is achieved by perturbing the surface normals of the object and using the perturbed normal during lighting calculations. Havok (software)
Havok is a middleware software suite developed by the Irish company Havok. Havok provides physics engine, navigation, and cloth simulation components that can be integrated into video game engines. In 2007, Intel acquired Havok Inc. In 2008, Havok was honored at the 59th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards for advancing the development of physics engines in electronic entertainment. In 2015, Microsoft acquired Havok.
