Cusae
Cusae (; ) was a city in Upper Egypt. Its Ancient Egyptian name was ''qjs'' (variant ''qsy''), conventionally rendered Qis or Kis, with many further transliterations such as Qosia. Today, the town is known as El Quseyya, and is located on the west bank of the Nile in the Asyut Governorate. History Cusae was the capital of the 14th Nome of Upper Egypt. Middle Kingdom It was a cult centre for Hathor, and also contained a necropolis, Meir, which was used during the Middle Kingdom to hold the tombs of local aristocrats. New Kingdom At the beginning of the reign of the Theban pharaoh Kamose, Cusae marked the boundary between the northern Hyksos realm (the 15th Dynasty) and the southern Theban kingdom (the 17th Dynasty). Meir, Egypt
The necropolis of Meir () is an archaeological site in Middle Egypt in the Asyut Governorate located on the west bank of the Nile. Here are the graves of the nomarchs, mayors and priests of Cusae from the ancient Egyptian Old and Middle Kingdom. The cemetery is named after the village of Meir at situated some 5 kilometers to the northeast of the cemetery and some 7 kilometers southwest of el-Qusiya (ancient Cusae). Overview Meir was the functioning cemetery for Cusae, located in Egypt, approximately thirty to forty miles north of the city of Asyut. Meir functioned as an Old Kingdom– Middle Kingdom (6th–12th Dynasty) cemetery for the nomarchs of the fourteenth Nome of Upper Egypt. Below the hillside of the rock-cut tombs lies a cemetery that is specifically for the more common folk. Kamose
Kamose was the last king of the Thebes, Egypt, Theban Seventeenth dynasty of Egypt, Seventeenth Dynasty at the end of the Second Intermediate Period. Kamose is usually ascribed a reign of three years (his highest attested regnal year), although some scholars now favor giving him a longer reign of approximately five years. He was the son of Seqenenre Tao and the brother of Ahmose I, founder of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt, Eighteenth Dynasty. His mother is unknown, but is thought to be Ahhotep I. His reign is important for the decisive military initiatives he took against the Hyksos, who had come to rule much of Ancient Egypt. His father had begun the initiatives and lost his life in battle with the Hyksos. Hyksos

Legio II Flavia Constantia
The Legio II ''Flavia Constantia'' (''reliable Flavian legion'') was a comitatensis Roman legion, created by Diocletian or Galerius, probably in the years 293, 296 or 297. Since Late Roman army, Roman strategy at the time required each province to have two legions, and the Thebaid province had none, the II ''Flavia Constantia'' was formed together with Legio I Maximiana, I ''Maximiana'' to garrison the newly created province Thebaid which became part of the new diocese of Diocese of Egypt, Aegyptus. Meletius Of Lycopolis
Melitius or Meletius (died 327) was bishop of Lycopolis in Egypt. He is known mainly as the founder and namesake of the Melitians (c. 305), one of several schismatic sects in early church history which were concerned about the ease with which lapsed Christians re-entered the Church. The details of his life are not clear, as there are conflicting accounts of it. According to one version, he was imprisoned for his Christianity during the persecution under Diocletian, along with Peter of Alexandria. Another source has Peter fleeing the scene, and a third one has Melitius himself avoiding prison.
