Cranopsis (gastropod)
''Cranopsis'' was previously a genus of sea snails, marine (ocean), marine gastropod mollusks in the family (biology), family Fissurellidae, the keyhole limpets. ''Cranopsis'' is since 2019 considered a synonym of ''Puncturella''. Description The fissure lies about the middle of the anterior side. Arthur Adams (1820 in Gosport, Hampshire – 1878) was an England, English physician and natural history, naturalist. Adams was assistant surgeon Royal Navy on board HMS Samarang (1822), HMS ''Samarang'' during the survey of the islands of the East Indian Archipelago, Eastern Archipelago, from 1843 to 1846. He edited the ''Zoology of the voyage of H.M.S. Samarang'' (1850). Adam White (zoologist), Adam White collaborated with him in the descriptions of the Crustacean, Crustacea from the voyage. In 1857, during the Second Opium War, Second China War whilst serving as Surgeon on HMS Actaeon (1831), HMS ''Actaeon'', he was present at the storming of Guangzhou, Canton and awarded the Second China War Medal, China War Medal. William Healey Dall
William Healey Dall (August 21, 1845 – March 27, 1927) was an American natural history, naturalist, a prominent Malacology, malacologist, and one of the earliest scientific explorers of interior Alaska. He described many mollusks of the Pacific Northwest of North America, and was for many years America's preeminent authority on living and fossil mollusks. Dall also made substantial contributions to ornithology, zoology, Biological anthropology, physical and cultural anthropology, oceanography, and paleontology. Augustus Addison Gould (April 23, 1805 – September 15, 1866) was an American naturalist and the foremost conchologist of his era.
