Cottesloe Rugby Union Football Club
Cottesloe Rugby Union Football Club, often shorted to "Cottesloe", "Cott" Cotts" or "The Seagulls", is a rugby union club based in Cottesloe, Perth, Western Australia. The club is the oldest club currently competing in the RugbyWA Fortescue Premier Grade, formed as "The Pirates" in 1893 and is older than the West Australian Rugby Union itself (RugbyWA). The club moved to Harvey Field in 1930 and have kept this as their home since. In 1930 the club also changed their colours to their current "Two Blue strip" and became known as the Seagulls or just "Gulls". Dane Haylett-Petty (born 18 June 1989) is a retired Australian rugby union footballer who played as a fullback or wing for the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby and the Wallabies. Early life Haylett-Petty was born in Durban in the former Province of Natal in South Africa. His family moved to Perth, Western Australia when Haylett-Petty was 10-years-old and attended the Hale School from 2000 to 2007 in the suburb of Wembley Downs. He played rugby for the Australia 'A' Schoolboys team in 2007. Rebecca Clough (born 14 November 1988) is an Australian rugby union player. She was a member of the Australian squad that finished in third place in the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup. Ollie Hoskins (rugby Union)
Ollie Hoskins (born 6 March 1993) is an Australian rugby union international player who started his career as a prop for the Western Force in Super Rugby and signed with London Irish in March 2016. When the club folded, Hoskins was signed by Saracens in June 2023. Career Hoskins was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia and represented his state at various age-group levels during his school days. Western Force
The Western Force is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Perth, Western Australia, currently competing in Super Rugby Pacific. They previously played in Super Rugby from 2006 until they were axed from the competition in 2017. Following their axing they played in the National Rugby Championship in 2018 and 2019, replacing the Perth Spirit, and Global Rapid Rugby from 2018 to 2020, an Indo-Pacific competition organised by Andrew Forrest. Wests Scarborough Rugby Union Football Club, often shortened to Wests Scarborough or just "Wests", is a rugby union club based in Doubleveiw, Scarborough, Perth, Western Australia. They have several teams competing in RugbyWA competitions and have one side playing in the RugbyWA Fortescue Premier Grade. The Western Australia Rugby Union (RugbyWA) is the governing body of rugby union in Western Australia. It was founded in 1893 and the inaugural 4 team competition commenced in 1895. The highest competition run by the union is the RugbyWA FMG Premier Grade. The Union was founded in 1893. Langley Park, Perth
Langley Park is an open space in the central business district of Perth, Western Australia. Running alongside Riverside Drive, it is grassed, rectangular in shape and has dimensions 900 x 100 m (3000 x 300 ft). It was created by reclaiming land from the adjacent Swan River between 1921 and 1935, to provide open space near the city. As a pioneer of civil aviation in Western Australia, Major Norman Brearley used the park as an airstrip in the 1920s. That tradition continues with "fly-ins", where small aircraft land in the park. In 2003, to celebrate 100 years of powered flight, 10 aircraft – one representing each decade of the 20th century – landed. Aircraft have also used the park to perform emergency landings.
