Confessions (radio)
''Confessions'' is an ongoing popular feature which first appeared on the BBC Radio 1 weekday breakfast show in the early 1990s, devised by its host, Simon Mayo. Mayo, who had hosted the show since 1988, started the feature in August 1990, partly due to the rising interest in his own Christian faith, and it caught on very quickly. Listeners would write in to "Father Mayo" and " confess" to their "sins", and each morning at 8:35am Mayo would broadcast one to the nation over Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni's ''Adagio'' for Organ and Strings in G minor. The "confessions" were often humorous and sometimes lacking in taste or scruples. At the peak of the feature, Mayo received more than one hundred confessions a week. Lynn Parsons
Lynn Margaret Parsons (born 27 June 1961) is a British disc jockey. Career Having graduated from college with an OND in electronic principles, Parsons started her career working in the television industry, where she was a sound engineer and later a vision mixer. She was a DJ on the pirate soul station JFM before moving to a Saturday night pop music programme at County Sound in Guildford. In radio, she joined London's Capital London in 1987 as a weeknight presenter, before moving to BBC Radio 1 in 1991. Jackie Todd Brambles (born 1 March 1967) is a British journalist, radio DJ and television presenter. In the earlier part of her broadcasting career she was known as Jakki Brambles. Alan Dedicoat is a British announcer from Hollywood, England, for programmes on BBC One. He is known as the "Voice of the Balls" on the National Lottery programmes, providing a voiceover for the draws since 1995. Greatest Hits Radio (GHR) is a classic hits radio network in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Bauer Media Audio UK.
