Comox—Atlin was a federal electoral district in the province of British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1917. This riding was created in 1903 from parts of Burrard and Vancouver ridings. The electoral district was abolished in 1914 when it was redistributed into Comox—Alberni and Skeena ridings. Burrard (electoral District)
Burrard was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1896 to 1904 and from 1917 to 1925. This riding was created in 1892 from parts of New Westminster riding. In 1903, this riding was redistributed into Vancouver City, Comox—Atlin and Yale—Cariboo, and was re-created from Vancouver City and Comox—Atlin in 1914. It was abolished in 1924 into Vancouver North and Vancouver—Burrard. Comox—Alberni was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 1979, and again from 1988 to 1993. History This riding was created in 1914 from parts of Comox—Atlin riding. It was abolished in 1976 when it was redistributed into Comox—Powell River and Nanaimo—Alberni ridings. It was recreated in 1987 from parts of those two ridings. Skeena was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 2004. Geography This was a rural, mostly wilderness, riding in northwestern B.C. It consisted of the northwest corner of the province of British Columbia, including the towns of Prince Rupert, Smithers and Terrace, and Haida Gwaii. History This riding was created in 1914 from parts of Comox—Atlin. It was first used in the 1917 federal election. The district was abolished in 2003. Herbert Sylvester Clements
Herbert Sylvester Clements (November 8, 1865 – November 30, 1939) was a Canadian politician. Born in Dover Township, Canada West, a manufacturer and farmer, he was first elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 1904 federal election for the Ontario electoral district of Kent West. A Conservative, he was defeated in 1908. He was elected in the 1911 elections for the British Columbia riding of Comox—Atlin. He was re-elected in 1917 to the redistributed seat, then named Comox-Alberni, where he was defeated in 1921. Vancouver (electoral District)
Vancouver was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1872 to 1904. This riding was created for the 1872 federal election, following British Columbia's admission into the Canadian Confederation in 1871, and lasted until 1903. The name of this riding is not derived from the contemporary City of Vancouver, B.C., but from its first incarnation in 1871 as the riding representing Vancouver Island (excepting the Victoria-area ridings). The Vancouver area was part of the New Westminster electoral district at the time of the province joining Confederation.
