Drăgănești-Olt () is a town in Olt County, Muntenia, Romania. The first document mentioning it is from 1526. Drăgănești-Olt became a town in 1968. The town administers one village, Comani. Geography The town is situated on the Wallachian Plain. It lies on the left bank of the river Olt, at an altitude of approximately . It is located in the central part of Olt County, at a distance of from the county seat, Slatina, and north of Turnu Măgurele. The town is crossed by county road DJ546, which meets national road DN6 a few miles to the south. The Drăgănești-Olt train station serves the CFR Line 900, which runs from Bucharest, to the east, to Timișoara and the border with Serbia to the west. Daniela Comani
Daniela Comani (born 4 February 1965 in Bologna, Italy) is an Italian artist. Since 1989, she has lived in Berlin, Germany. Biography Comani received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, Italy (1988) and a Master of Fine Arts from the Universität der Künste in Berlin, Germany (1993). The multimedia work of Comani touches on subjects like history, language, gender and identity. She often works with photos and texts from newspapers, television and books that allegedly appear familiar to us. Foreignness and intimacy, history and interpretation, and the mechanisms of comprehension are her concerns. Comani's artistic practice includes photography, texts, drawings, video and installation. The Comani were a Gallic tribe or the inhabitants of an eponymous town dwelling in the region of Massalia (modern Marseille) during the Iron Age. Name They are mentioned as ''Comani'' by Pliny (1st c. AD) and by Ptolemy (2nd c. AD). Pliny. ''Naturalis Historia'', 3:34; Ptolemy. ''Geōgraphikḕ Hyphḗgēsis'', 2:10:5. The ethnonym ''Comani'' may be compared with the personal name ''Comanus'', which is based on the Gaulish prefix ''co''- attached to -''mānos'' (perhaps 'good, favourable'; cf.
