Colin Scot
Colin "Scotty" Thistlethwaite (17 March 1941 – 1999), who performed and recorded as Colin Scot, was a British singer-songwriter. Life and career He was born in County Durham, to parents originally from California. In the mid-1950s, he moved with his parents to London, Ontario, Canada, and after high school studied at California State University at Long Beach. In the early 1960s, he played banjo and guitar, and with pianist Bud Hedrick formed a ragtime duo, Bud and Scotty, who played regularly at Coke Corner in Disneyland. There, he came to know members of folk revival vocal group the Yachtsmen Quartet, who regularly led hootenanny-style entertainments at Disneyland, sometimes featuring artists such as the Dillards, Hoyt Axton, José Feliciano, and John Denver.Malcolm C. "Early Morning Rain," sometimes styled as "Early Mornin' Rain," is a song written, composed, and recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. The song appears on his 1966 debut album '' Lightfoot!'' and, in a re-recorded version, on the 1975 compilation ''Gord's Gold.'' Background Lightfoot wrote and composed the song in 1964, but its genesis took root during his 1960 sojourn in Westlake, Los Angeles. Throughout this time, Lightfoot sometimes became homesick and would go out to the Los Angeles International Airport on rainy days to watch the approaching aircraft. The imagery of the flights taking off into the overcast sky was still with him when, in 1964, he was caring for his 5-month-old baby son and he thought, "I’ll put him over here in his crib, and I’ll write myself a tune." Brinsley Ernst Pieter Schwarz (born 25 March 1947, Woodbridge, Suffolk) is an English guitarist and rock musician. His family's roots are German. He formed a band named Kippington Lodge in 1965, which evolved into the band Brinsley Schwarz. James Alan Hull (20 February 1945 – 17 November 1995) was an English singer-songwriter and founding member of the Tyneside folk rock band Lindisfarne. Peter Joseph Andrew Hammill (born 5 November 1948) is an English musician and recording artist. He was a founder member of the progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. Best known as a singer/songwriter, he also plays guitar and piano and produces his own recordings and occasionally those of other artists.
