Art Cohn
Art Cohn (April 5, 1909 – March 22, 1958) was an American sportswriter, screenwriter and author. Cohn and Hollywood producer Mike Todd died in a plane crash in New Mexico in 1958. Career Sportswriter Cohn was born in New York City. Early in his career he wrote for the ''Long Beach Press-Telegram''. From 1936 to 1943, he was a sportswriter and sports editor for the ''Oakland Tribune'', which published his sports column ''Cohn-ing Tower'' (wordplay on "conning tower"). He worked as a press correspondent during World War II. In January 1958, after being away from newspaper work for 14 years, Cohn joined ''The San Francisco Examiner''; in his first column there, he wrote, "Things seem to happen where I happen to be." Cohn was a controversial opinion writer of the time; he "afflicted the sports world with hard questions about racial equality long before the civil rights movement."

Harry Cohn (July 23, 1891 – February 27, 1958) was a co-founder, president, and production director of Columbia Pictures, Columbia Pictures Corporation. Life and career Cohn was born to a working-class Jewish family in New York City. His father, Joseph Cohn, was a tailor from Germany, and his mother, Bella Joseph, was from the Pale of Settlement, Russian Empire. He left school early and had a variety of jobs, including chorus boy, fur salesman, pool hustler, shipping clerk, streetcar conductor and song plugger for a sheet music printer. Gustav Cohn (12 December 1840 in Marienwerder, West Prussia – 17 September 1919) was a German economist, noted for his pioneering contributions to the theory and policy of transportation and public finance. He was educated at Berlin and Jena universities. During 1867 and 1868 he was the holder of a fellowship at the Royal Statistical Bureau of Berlin, and in 1869 became privat-docent at the University of Heidelberg, but in the same year accepted an invitation from the Polytechnikum at Riga. Gretta Cohn is an American media executive and cellist who is CEO of the podcast network Pushkin Industries. Music Cohn played cello in the rock group Cursive from 2001 to 2005. Gary Cohn (March 9, 1952 – December 23, 2024) was an American Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter and adjunct professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Cohn won the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting, with Will Englund, while at ''The Baltimore Sun'', and had been a Pulitzer finalist on two other occasions. Gary Cohn (born January 25, 1952) is an American comic book writer, and co-creator (with Dan Mishkin) of the DC Comics characters Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld and Blue Devil. Early life Gary Cohn attended Michigan State University earning his bachelor's degree in creative writing (liberal arts) and graduated from Bowling Green State University with an M.A. in 1980. Career Cohn and longtime friend Dan Mishkin entered the comics industry together following a correspondence with Jack C. Harris, an editor at DC Comics. Ferdinand Julius Cohn (24 January 1828 – 25 June 1898) was a German biologist. He is one of the founders of modern bacteriology and microbiology. Falk Cohn (; September 18, 1833 – March 6, 1901) was a German rabbi. Biography Falk Cohn was born in Dessau in 1833, the son of a rabbi and teacher at the city's Herzogliche Franzschule. He began the study of the Talmud in his early years. After completing his matriculation, he studied philology and philosophy in Berlin, where he also continued his Talmudic studies.
