Cochrane Generals
The Cannex Cochrane Generals are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the South Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). They will play their home games at the SLS Centre for the 2023-2024 season. History The Cannex Cochrane Generals played in the CAJHL before the HJHL, in the CAJHL they were the 1988-89 South Division Champions. They are the 2007-08 and 2008-09 HJHL Champions. Since then they have been 2015-2016 HJHL South Division Champions, in 2016-17, the team won the HJHL South division and the 2021-22 North Division Champions as well as a silver medal at the Alberta Jr. B hockey Championships in 2017 and 2022. Cochrane ( ) is a town in the Calgary Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. The town is located west of the Calgary city limits along Highway 1A. Cochrane is one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada, and with a population of 32,199 in 2021, it is one of the largest towns in Alberta. It is part of Calgary's census metropolitan area and a member community of the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB). The town is surrounded by Rocky View County. History Cochrane was established in 1881 as the Cochrane Ranche, after Matthew Henry Cochrane, a local rancher. Red Deer Vipers
The Red Deer Vipers are a Junior "B" Ice Hockey team based in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Division of the Heritage Junior B Hockey League (HJHL). They played their home games at Red Deer Arena until 2016 when it was torn down to be rebuilt. The Vipers played home games out of Red Deer's Collicutt Centre which only sat about 500 with standing room for a season & a half. In January 2018, the Vipers returned to downtown Red Deer to play in the new Servus Arena which seats about 1,300. History The Red Deer Vipers are an original Heritage Junior B Hockey League team, named as the Red Deer Cowboys beginning in the 1987–88 HJHL season. The Wainwright Bisons are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Wainwright, Alberta, Canada. They are members of the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League (NEAJBHL). They play their home games at Peace Memorial Multiplex. History Since the 1990–91 season the Wainwright Bison have three league championships winning in the 2001, 2016 and 2017 playoffs. The victory advanced the Bison to the Russ Barnes Trophy championships which is the Alberta Provincial Jr. B Championships featuring eight teams. The Fairview Flyers are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Fairview, Alberta, Canada. The team is a member of the North West Junior Hockey League and the 2012–13 season was their inaugural season. History The team was founded as the Fairview Junior Hockey Club in June 2012. The expansion team was officially named the Fariview Flyers in July. In only their third year the Fairview Flyers advanced to the league finals. Although the Flyers lost the championships (they played the North Peace Navigators), circumstances resulted in the team advancing to the Russ Barnes Trophy to determine the Alberta Junior B Provincial Champion. The Medicine Hat Cubs are a Canadian Junior B ice hockey team located in Medicine Hat, Alberta. They play in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League, from the Medicine Hat Kinplex. History The Cubs were founded in 1973 into the Heritage Junior B Hockey League. In their fifth year, 1977–78, they won the league championship for the first time, repeating as champions the next season. In the 1980s and 90s the Cubs won the league championship again in 1980–81, 85–86, 87–88, 90–91, 91–92, 92–93, 94–95, 95–96, 99–00 and 00–01.
