Claude Clough
Claude Hamilton Clough (8 October 1884 – 23 February 1922) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the early 1900s. He holds the record as the youngest-ever player in the league, having made his debut at 15 years, 209 days. Until March 2012, the record was thought to be held by Keith Bromage, who made his debut at 15 years and 287 days. Collegians are an Australian rugby league football team based in Wollongong. The club are a part of Country Rugby League and compete in the Illawarra Rugby League premiership. Originally known as CBC Old Boys, the Club was founded in 1933. The Brothers Club was then admitted to the Illawarra 1st Grade competition in 1938. AFL Siren Controversy
The AFL siren controversy (dubbed Sirengate) surrounded the conclusion and result of an Australian rules football match played on 30 April 2006 during Round 5 of the Australian Football League's 2006 AFL season, 2006 season. The match was played between the St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda and Fremantle Football Clubs at Aurora Stadium (then the sponsor name of York Park) in Launceston, Tasmania. When the final Siren (noisemaker), siren sounded, Fremantle were leading by one point; however, the umpires did not hear the siren, and play continued for around 10 seconds, during which time St Kilda scored a point to tie the match. Four days later, the AFL Commission determined that the match should have been ended when the first siren sounded. Keith Bromage
Keith Bromage (born 8 November 1937) is a former Australian rules footballer. He played with Collingwood and Fitzroy in his Victorian Football League (VFL) career. When he debuted against Richmond in 1953 at 15 years of age and 287 days, he was thought to be the youngest debutant in the history of the game. However, in 2012 it was discovered that Claude Clough was aged 15 years and 209 days when he made his debut for in May 1900. Collegians Football Club (nicknamed the ''Lions'') is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Albert Park. Formed in 1891, it is the second-oldest club in the VAFA, after Melbourne University Football Club. The Lions have the longest continuous membership of the VAFA and its antecedents.
