Churintzio is a municipality in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It is located northwest of the state capital of Morelia. Geography The municipality of Churintzio is located in northern Michoacán at an altitude between . It borders the municipalities of Ecuandureo to the west, La Piedad to the north, Zináparo to the northeast, Penjamillo to the southeast, and Tlazazalca to the south. The municipality covers an area of and comprises 0.4% of the state's area. Churintzio is located in the highlands of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. It is watered by intermittent streams and cold springs in the Lerma River basin. Churintzio's climate is temperate with rain in the summer. La Piedad
La Piedad is a municipality located at in the north-west of the Mexican state of Michoacán, bordering Jalisco and Guanajuato and being the northernmost municipality in Michoacán. The municipal seat is the city of La Piedad de Cabadas. The original colonial name was San Sebastián. It is bordered by the town of Santa Ana Pacueco, Guanajuato. Purépecha Language
Purépecha ( autonym: or ), often called Tarascan (), a term coined by Spanish settlers that can be seen as pejorative, is a language isolate or small language family that is spoken by some 140,000 Purépecha in the highlands of Michoacán, Mexico. Lerma River
The Lerma River () is Mexico's second longest river. It is a river in west-central Mexico that begins in Mexican Plateau at an altitude over above sea level, and ends where it empties into Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake, near Guadalajara, Jalisco.
