Christa Lörcher
Christa Gisela Lörcher ( Treumann, June 24, 1941, in Gniew) is a former German politician. She was a member of the Bundestag from 1993 to 2002. Life Lörcher was born in Gniew, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland, at the time administered under Nazi occupation as Mewe, Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia. She graduated from high school in 1959 and studied at the University of Tübingen and at the Esslingen University of Education, graduating as a primary and secondary school teacher. She then became a secondary school teacher for mathematics and physics. She received a scholarship from the Volkswagenwerk Foundation for mathematics projects in England, the US and Sweden. She then completed practical vocational training as a geriatric nurse. She worked as a math and physics teacher in various types of schools and collaborated on the Kahle/Lörcher mathematics work for secondary schools. Gniew
Gniew (; ) is a historic town situated on the left bank of the Vistula River, in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It has 6,870 inhabitants (2016). It is one of the oldest towns in Eastern Pomerania, and is renowned for its medieval Brick Gothic Gniew Castle, Castle, which has become one of the region's most recognizable monuments. The town also has other medieval Gothic monuments, and in early modern times it was a centre for the wine trade and the seat of local starosts, most notably John III Sobieski, who was elected King of Poland. Schwarzwald-Baar is an electoral constituency (German: ''Wahlkreis'') represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 286. It is located in southwestern Baden-Württemberg, comprising the district of Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis and southeastern parts of the Ortenaukreis district. Schwarzwald-Baar was created for the 1980 federal election. Since 2013, it has been represented by Thorsten Frei of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). An independent politician or non-affiliated politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or Bureaucracy, bureaucratic association. There are numerous reasons why someone may stand for office as an independent. War In Afghanistan (2001–2021)
The war in Afghanistan was a prolonged armed conflict lasting from 2001 to 2021. It began with United States invasion of Afghanistan, the invasion by a Participants in Operation Enduring Freedom, United States-led coalition under the name Operation Enduring Freedom in response to the September 11 attacks carried out by al-Qaeda. The Taliban and its allies were quickly expelled from major population centers by US-led forces supporting the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance, thus toppling the Taliban-ruled Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (1996–2001), Islamic Emirate.
