Chiranjit Chakraborty
Deepak Chakraborty (born 2 November 1950), known professionally as Chiranjeet Chakraborty, is an Indian actor and director in the Bengali film industry located in Kolkata, West Bengal. He is the son of renowned cartoonist Shaila Chakraborty. He is also a politician and a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Government of West Bengal. He was born on 2 November 1955 in Kolkata. He has been conferred upon the prestigious ''Mahanayak Samman'' by the Govt. of West Bengal in 2012. He made his debut with the 1981 film ''Sonay Sohaga''. It was a box office failure. He gained popularity after starring in Anjan Choudhury's 1984 film ''Shotru''. His first hit in a lead role was the 1985 film ''Antarale''. The West Bengal Legislative Assembly (ISO 15919, ISO: ''Paścimabaṅga Vidhānasabhā'') is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of West Bengal, located in eastern India. It consists of 294 members directly elected from single-seat constituencies through the first-past-the-post voting, FPTP voting system. The Assembly meets at Vidhan Sabha Bhavan in Kolkata, the capital of the state. ''Kencho Khunrte Keute'' ( cobra to dig earthworms) is a 1995 Indian Bengali-language action-comedy film written, directed and produced by Chiranjeet, under the banner of Dipabali Chitram. A modern day adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic play, ''The Taming of the Shrew,'' it stars Chiranjeet with Indrani Dutta in the lead roles, while Utpal Dutta, Basanti Chatterjee, Satya Bandyopadhyay, Tanima Majumder and Sumit Ganguly played supporting roles. The film's music was composed by Anupam Dutta with lyrics penned by Laxmikanta Roy. The action and dance sequences were also choreographed by Chiranjeet himself. Partha Chatterjee (politician)
Partha Chatterjee (born 6 October 1952) is an Indian politician. He earlier served as the Minister of Commerce and Industries and formerly served as the Education Minister of Government of West Bengal. He represented the Trinamool Congress. He also held the political office of Secretary General of the TMC. In 2022, he was suspended indefinitely from the party following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.
