''Cheapness and Beauty'' is the fifth studio album by English singer and songwriter Boy George, released in 1995. It peaked at number 44 on the UK Albums Chart. Background Having scored his biggest solo success in the US and Canada with the theme song for the movie ''The Crying Game'' in 1992, George decided to move away from an electronic sound and record some rock-oriented tracks with a glam-rock edge. Boy George
George Alan O'Dowd (born 14 June 1961), known professionally as Boy George, is an English singer-songwriter and DJ who rose to fame as the lead singer of the pop band Culture Club. He began his solo career in 1987. Boy George grew up in Eltham and was part of the New Romantic movement which emerged in the late 1970s to early 1980s. His androgynous look and style of fashion was greatly inspired by glam rock pioneers David Bowie and Marc Bolan. Luís Alberto Figueira Gonçalves Jardim (born 4 July 1950) is a Portuguese percussionist born on the island of Madeira. He is best known for his work with producer Trevor Horn. Family Jardim is a cousin of Alberto João Jardim (former president of the regional government of Madeira). He was married to former Buggles vocalist Linda Jardim-Allen until her death in 2015. Funtime (Iggy Pop Song)
"Funtime" is a song written by Iggy Pop and David Bowie, first released by Iggy Pop on his 1977 album entitled ''The Idiot''. It reflects Iggy and Bowie's growing fascination with the German music scene, and bears marked similarities to "Lila Engel" by krautrock band Neu!. It has since been covered by multiple artists including Blondie, Boy George, Bebe Buell, Peter Murphy, R.E.M. and The Cars. Composition Iggy had the idea for the song after hearing the Sex Pistols cover the song " No Fun" by his band The Stooges, lyrically the song's ironic take on fun is similar to the song in question.
