Chanute High School is a Secondary education in the United States, public secondary school in Chanute, Kansas, United States, and operated by Chanute USD 413 school district. Campus The school's current building was completed in 2008. Curriculum Chanute High School offers a variety of courses, including concurrent classes through Neosho County Community College. With the construction of the new high school in 2008, a new trade building was completed. Welding and construction classes are offered as well as Advanced Placement classes. AP Calculus AB, AP European History, AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature are taught currently. Foreign languages courses include Spanish I-IV. Chanute, Kansas
Chanute () is a city in Neosho County, Kansas, Neosho County, Kansas, United States. Founded on January 1, 1873, it was named after railroad engineer and aviation pioneer Octave Chanute. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population of the city was 8,722. Chanute is home of Neosho County Community College. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is an international nonprofit Christian sports ministry based in Kansas City, Missouri, Kansas City. History FCA was founded in 1954 by Eastern Oklahoma State College, Eastern Oklahoma A&M basketball coach Don McClanen, who later resigned to become its full-time director. After watching sports stars use fame to endorse and sell general merchandise, McClanen wrote to 19 prominent sports figures asking for their help in establishing an organization that would use the same principle to share the Christian faith. Paul Lindblad
Paul Aaron Lindblad (August 9, 1941 – January 1, 2006) was an American Major League Baseball left-handed middle-relief pitcher. During his career, he pitched primarily for the Kansas City / Oakland Athletics. At the time of his retirement in 1978, he had recorded the seventh-most appearances (655) of any left-hander in history. Career Lindblad was born in Chanute, Kansas. A member of three World Series championship teams, he was a solid left-handed specialist in the American League for 14 seasons. A very fine fielder as well, he set a major league record by playing from 1966 to 1974 without making an error in 385 games. Upward Bound is a federally funded educational program within the United States. The program is one of a cluster of programs now referred to as Federal TRIO Programs, TRiO, all of which owe their existence to the federal Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 (the War on Poverty Program) and the Higher Education Act of 1965.
