Palpana
Palpana (from , ram) is a volcano in the Andes of Chile. It has a summit elevation of . It is part of the dividing range between Upper Loa River basin and Salar de Ascotán basin. Together with Inacaliri and Azufre, it forms a long volcanic chain constructed along the Inacaliri lineament. The volcano rises above an ignimbrite plain that in the area reaches an altitude of and forms a chain of volcanoes with Inacaliri. A wide crater surmounts the volcano and features late lava domes. Calama, Chile
Calama is a city and commune in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. It is the capital of El Loa Province, part of the Antofagasta Region. Calama is one of the driest cities in the world with average annual precipitation of just . The River Loa, Chile's longest, flows through the city. Calama has a population of 147,886 (2012 census). The commune also encompasses the Quechua communities of Estación San Pedro, Toconce and Cupo; and the Lickan-antay communities of Taira, Conchi Viejo, Lasana, San Francisco de Chiu Chiu, Aiquina-Turi, and Caspana. Ollagüe, Chile
Ollagüe is a Chilean frontier village and commune in El Loa Province, Antofagasta Region. The village is northeast of the city of Calama, and has a station and marshalling yard on the FCAB rail line. The commune is in the Andean altiplano, bordering with Bolivia. It also includes the localities of ''Cebollar'', ''Ascotán'', ''Amincha'', ''El Inca'', ''Coska'', ''Puquios'', and ''Chela''.
