Cerrillos Metro Station
Cerrillos is an underground metro station and the southern terminal station of Line 6 of the Santiago Metro network, in Santiago, Chile. It is underground, being the terminal station of Line 6, preceded by the Lo Valledor station. It is located at the intersection of Pedro Aguirre Cerda-Camino a Melipilla avenues with Departamental-Buzeta. The station was opened on 2 November 2017 as part of the inaugural section of the line, between Cerrillos and Los Leones. Etymology The station is located in the municipality of Cerrillos. Santiago Metro
The Santiago Metro ( es, Metro de Santiago) is a rapid transit system serving the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile. It currently consists of seven lines (numbered 1-6 and 4A), 136 stations, and of revenue route. The system is managed by the state-owned Metro S.A. and is the first and only rapid transit system in the country. The Santiago Metro carries around 2.5 million passengers daily. This figure represents an increase of more than a million passengers per day compared to 2007, when the ambitious Transantiago project was launched, in which the metro plays an important role in the public transport system serving the city. Its highest passenger peak was reached on 2 May 2019, reaching 2,951,962 passengers. Cerrillos (English: Hillocks) is a communes of Chile, commune of Chile located in a midtown area of Santiago, Chile, Santiago and the southwest of the city — in the Santiago Province, Chile, Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region — as a spot of the conurbation of Santiago. The commune was created in 1991 from a subdivision of Maipú, Chile, Maipú. Los Leones Metro Station
Los Leones is a station of the line 1 of the Santiago Metro in Chile, and is the northern terminus of the line 6. The station is named for the nearby Los Leones Avenue. Located in the heart of the commercial area of Providencia, some of its entrances are integrated into the retail lower levels of buildings. Transantiago
Red Metropolitana de Movilidad (English: ''Metropolitan Mobility Network''; named Transantiago until March 2019) is a public transport system that serves Santiago, the capital of Chile. It is considered the most ambitious transport reform undertaken by a developing country according to the World Resources Institute. The system, largely influenced by Bogotá, Colombia's TransMilenio and Curitiba, Brazil's RIT, was introduced on February 10, 2007. It standardized bus routes and eliminated redundancy of same; redundancies were commonplace in the old system, which was run by thousands of independent bus operators.
